I'm glad I'm not the only one who has had some difficulty with acrylics, for a while I thought it was just my ineptness...... I will give them a go again... I just have to find the time and the right subject, BUT I always seem to default back to enamels.... and yeah, Cathy gets after me for the smell too ( of the paints ) I guess , part of my problem among many, is that I am working on OLD experiences, I have really yet to try the new paints out now, my times were Testors, acrylics, many moons ago... so maybe I need to step up my game and try the new stuff...... -

Sorry to see that Carl, but for me, personally, that is the kind of luck I have had with 'those' kind of paints, and why, again , for me personally I always fall back on the enamels..... I REALLY have to step out of my comfort zone................and go back and try acrylic paints again, but this is why I always chicken out ..... I guess I'm a bit of a sissy............... -

Dale................ you mention Fine Molds seat belts................. I hunted all over for a venue that sells them, and came up dry,............. well sorta , there was an Oriental website, and of course it was in their own language, and as I can barely get through our own English it didn't do me a whole lot of good..... where would you access these Fine Mold Belts? I think they might be a great idea for me to try out.......... as I 'might' have more or at least different success with them................ can you point this old hound in a direction, buddy? -
OUTSTANDING ! Merry Christmas to him and the family ! It will be a real good one now !

Well, I'm thinking that may be a little ahead of my skill set, being a lot on the technical side, and I don't have the 'good stuff' in my inventory............... but take it from a guy who knows NICE, it looks damn near perfect from where I sit....... you nailed the shininess, and the hue is dead on..... I may have to step up my game and give the Alclad a go................ I always seem to fall back on what I know ( and it isn't much ) but it is safe...... I must step out of my comfort zone... bottom line is it looks awesome! -
We live on a different PLANET, Carl............... same rock, different planet !

Cool beans Smitty, and BEST wishes to your niece, at West Point ! My son went to RMC here in Canada (Royal Military College) and he and one other cadet were selected to do a 6 month exchange to West Point, so a Canadian kid from a small town in British Columbia to get to go to West Point, and do a thesis was a VERY proud moment for Cathy and me..... especially as we know how many American kids try to get there and we also know it is a Congressional appointment, so Cathy and I KNOW how proud you must be..... tell her our little connection with her school and wish her all the very best... GO ARMY !!
