Ok ... the advertised product says what it represents and what aircraft it was fitted to ... It DOESN"T say that it will fit any particular kit ... and given what we already know - I doubt a little sanding (or even a lot) will get those to fit. Rog
-
I don’t know who Victor Models are - some AM manufacturer?!? ... Anyway ... there’s, in all probability, two chances of fitting a legit scaled R-2800 into the current nacelles ... and I don’t like either of them!! we’ll need new ones for the rivet-n-panel brigade for sure. Rog

As I said ... the errors have been pointed out ad nauseam ... but the constant whining and belly aching is getting old ... my philosophy is: point out possible (or factual errors as they appear) ... and then build the bastard ... or don’t!! That’s it!!! ... No need to berate or curse the Manufacturer or carry on like a broken record!! ... and there you have discovered my need to vent ... I’m sure if I had of made this post on LSP it would have been automatically thread locked - as people can’t can’t seem to express adult opinions without having a jab at someone’s personality or character. I would have probably gotten a stern PM from M.G. for inciting a flame war!! I vent ... say my piece ... and move on! So to all and sundry ... thanks for allowing the rant and not throwing down the gauntlet!!! As for MY view on the kit ... the cowls appear to be closed so the only thing you’ll see through them is a tiny bit of “burnt metal” ... If Eduard goes Brassin (or anyone else) then you’ll get new corrected cowls and correct engines to fit ‘em ... aftermarket wheels so who cares what’s in the box ... same for ETO WWII decals ... Props may have to be AM and I’m sure Mike can whip up something on the printer if required?!? My more immediate concern is the lack of the turret underneath!! In all likelihood scratching something that simplistic shouldn’t be an issue. Rog

1/32 HobbyBoss Invader A-26B (a Joke?)
Artful69 replied to Martinnfb's topic in Modelling Discussion
Actually ... you might be onto something there ... it’ll be like the Stuka ... they’ll release an A-20 next and the nacelles and engines will be from an A-26B Invader... buy both to get your aircraft accurate!! Rog -
Ok ... So ... it’s HobbyBoss (or Trumpeter) and yes, ok, the nacelles look (more than) a little off, and yes, it has vinyl tires ... and yes the engines don’t have enough cylinders (not much of which will be visible through those cowls anyway!) ... We know it’s not Tamiya or ZM ... and errors aplenty have been pointed out ad-nauseam ... BUT CAN EVERYONE STOP FREAKING WHINING LIKE 2 YEAR OLDS WHOSE MUMMY DIDN'T BUY THEM THE FREAKING LOLLIES THEY WANTED AT THE SHOP ... It is what it is ... and yes we know it isn’t perfect ... The end ... Please excuse my need to vent ... Thank you all for your time Rog

I would LOVE to see a comparo' done between RFM, Takom, Meng and Border kits ... I haven't bought any of the newer (post Dragon) stuff - except somewhere in the stash is a basic RFM Tiger I think? Rog

GuP is what got me started watching Anime ... and with all the nods to various nations and tank types - plenty of laughs The "Auto Club Girls" Tiger is actually the Porsche Tiger (P) ... The engine ran the servos and the servos ran the drive train ... It was actually a pretty neat idea ... Just had too many teething issues (as per the Ferdinands at Kursk) ... I love how the girls first inclination with it is to go full Tokyo drift ... and then they have the "Boost" added later. My favourite by far though is to watch the evolution of the Pz.38(t) ... Given the crews tendencies - the (eventual) Hetzer becomes the perfect troll wagon ... Poor old Momo (the gunner) can't hit the side of a barn door ... while Anzu, in the rare moments that she stops chewing on dried sweet potato and gets into the action, is a first rate sniper!! ... The recent edition of the Mk.IV Male in Das Finale has been good also Rog

Interestingly the Tamiya Pz.II is the only 35' kit in existence to come with a ready made Rommel Bin for it. The kit is so cheap, it's worth buying just for that alone. I managed to get one of the last remaining Sovereign 2000 resin AM jobs for one of my Dragon kits ... I have a thing for the BT.42 after Mika's antics during Girls und Panzer - Der Film ... all to the soundtrack of the Säkkijärven Polkka. Rog

Well it seems better than toilet paper!! ... Too many Zombie movies being watched I fear. Rog

I miss Lower Storm Leader Melda Deitz ... I was hoping that she would get a reunion with Akira Yamamoto in this series at some point ... doesn't look like that will happen though ... Rog

Artful69 replied to James H's topic in Armour/AFV Reviews
Okayyyyyyy lol ... I jump on here to read through one of James' thorough inbox reviews ... well done James - again ... I get to the bottom and ... What. The. Actual ... ?? LMAO .... we had a live one huh? ... and I missed the party!!! ... Bummer. You all seemed to carve him up pretty well though Nice kit ... thinking about possible diorama deployment Rog -
Ohhhhh Yeah!!!! ... WARP!! ... I'm halfway through watching 2202 now - knocks the current Star Wars stuff on its a$$!! Rog
-
Well ... It took a while that seemed like forever ... but I finally got my RAAF markings for the F/A-18.F and G Rog

Oops apologies for the miss Jim!! ... Happy Birthday! Rog

Happy Birthday!! Rog

Probably site maintenance or some such ... with any luck - a complete reconfigure since it takes ages for anything to download!! Rog

Yeah ... While I'm not at all convinced by ZM's obsession for the clear/opaque plastic detail reveal option ... I'm also not convinced that they would ever look at including multiple variants in one boxing ... It'd be like HKM whacking the Dam Buster sprues in with the standard Lanc or a Mk.B.IV bomber nose going in with the Tamiya Mosquito Mk.FB.VI ... Maybe charge less for the kit in the 1st place and dispose of the dodgy clear gear?? ... or include it like HKM did with the Lanc as a limited edition first run. Rog
-
Well ... That's an interesting question!! lol I promised I'd post photo's of my shame ... er stash once the last of the ZM kits arrived ... and so I shall ... I'm home with a tummy wog atm ... nasty thing ... but I intend to organise and clear the hobby room over the next couple of days ... Once everything has been sorted and I'm set up for my "speed build" with Clunk-n-co I'll take some pics, do a count and post! Rog BTW ... I'm not a huge fan of Jap WWII planes but that Ki-45 is a smooth looker ... I think you'll like that kit - ZM have come along in leaps and bounds since the Shinden.
-
Last package of the latest batch in ... First ... An A-4E Skyhawk kit - to be repurposed as an RAAF A-4G ... I know there's a bent up fuel probe to be attached but other than that I think all externals are the same. Next ... the latest couple of Skyraiders from ZM ... Now I'm up to date with the entire collection Rog

Dragon Panther G late- quick build (?)
Artful69 replied to BlrwestSiR's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Thanks Carl ... I figured if I want to do a late Panther G now There's RFM, Meng and Takom ALL with individual track links ... And all are easier to source and ship to me ... I have several more expensive purchases ahead of it in the queue at the moment. When I saw your kit in the WIP I was reminiscing more than anything ... and living vicariously through your build! Rog
