  1. A sandblaster to remove photo-etch paint? I also said there was NO detail under the paint on my 1/24 Eduard seat belts. The paint fell off when I began working with them. I think a strip of metal would have been more obvious a choice rather than this balderdash.
  2. Last chopper built: Next on the way: Saturday night ride: Around towner: Just came back in without any salmon: As well as custom fabrication of any kind of sign you are able to think of,and many other items as well, specializing in s/s.. Pretty much covers the hobby thing.
  3. I bent mine, the finish fell off...! There is no detail on the metal, under the finish.
  4. I remember being frustrated as a kid trying to make certain kits , that are now known as unbuildable. I now live the truth of making ones own parts , and the devil in that. Speaking of the 4 bladed prop , what a good idea , should have just made 2 out of 4 , but gotta 'play the big shot' as a goof on another forum put it. So into it and here we are , mould box built and prop ready to go as soon as the epoxy dries: [/ 1905 today.
  5. Today: 1 AEG $50.00 in shipping. From US to British Columbia coastal community. 1 DH2 $40.00 in shipping. Half the kit cost in shipping ? I would venture to say that perhaps a lot of WW's popularity was due to low (reasonable) shipping costs.
  6. No 'future' for me. Everyone knows all terrorists build models.
  7. My parcels are routinely inspected , violated , all in the name of 'national security'. My fav? when they drill a hole for the inspection camera , their brutally rertarded 'thought process' only allowing this to happen on the box top , right through the artwork. Small minds with too much power.
  8. Prop master powers forward. I used .005" plastic card for the 'dams' . nearly ready to box it:
  9. Thanks Phas! I realize its paint drying , but the prop has to be cast and I wanna do it a the same time as these m/c wheels: So a near disaster with the prop , as a result of filling my water bottle with lacquer thinner , I managed to pull it out and get the damage and the final filling done: The prop mould will be tough but has to be done , then on to the metal casting.
  10. Very nice. Are those fabric decals under the lozenge decals? Or are they a single decal?
  11. Thanks Kent. Some white primer/filler reveals a little more smoothing to do on the prop: Prolly install vinyl to replicate the leading edge metal. Then on to casting.
  12. Thanks Micheal. I'll be cutting the 1/2" clear acrylic base today. Stock 1/2" Acrylite FF Shape defined: Gothamoebic shape cut out: Visualizing: Prolly wont go further than a quick edge sanding for now. |Routing and flame polishing to finish most likely. 1400
  13. Here is everything with todays paper: [/url] And the work done:
  14. Thanks Micheal. What I meant was that , and other modellers will concur , when a piece reaches 'critical mass' I will tend to focus on the finish , and get there right smartly. This gets things finished, and I dont mean poking it every 5 minutes to see if the paint is dry! Putting the blinders on and working through the final stages would be an apt description. I am gonna work on some of this piece today , doing a 4 bladed prop to be cast in metal. Kit props one on top of the other, visualizing dontcha know: [/ URL] Went alla way through on this tonight, sectioned and pinned , nicely true. I used liquid glue to double/bubble the two joins. I like that the edit option stays on here for a while , I can add to my posts showing continuity in the work. Got up and went to the prop , Milliput begins the blending process, you can see the needed filler shapes emerging: Coming up nicely:
  15. Exceptional cnc machining. Are the tyres treadless on purpose or have you reached the limit of cnc capability in that respect?
  16. Thanks Michael. My instructions are getting dogeared from the almost constant nightly perusal . Finishing off my 'Ypres 1914' 120 mm WW1 fig vignette was a relief, I wont start another kit until I finish one thats on the go: I have determined to start with the rest of the armaments and the bombs. Cutting an MDF base to begin that part of things as well. These will be the first postings. 1238
  17. Guy on Hyperscale has that kit with extras for $135.00 , sale pending! Some peeps needa get out more...
  18. Hysterical bidding. Cant be taken as the norm. What 0/400?
  19. Nicely done. One suggestion: Thin out the walls of your intake and exhaust pipes.
  20. I would be careful of leaving the parts in the UC for too long. I pitted the soldering on some items I left in too long. My understanding is that after the initial immersion and material removal , take the items out as they aint getting any cleaner.
