  1. Amazon; A lesson. I recently made a purchase on Amazon; no biggie, just a Masking set for Tamiya's 1/48 A-1H Skyraider by Eduard. Pressed buy not giving it a thought. I forgot about it for a while, then I thought ; " where is this thing?" Well, checked with Amazon and I saw that it was being handled by something called Inandout and they would provide tracking. They did eventually but I could not find a way to use the number provided. I eventually used an international tracking website and found it was being sent from Switzerland! I live in Waukegan Illinois! This Inandout is an Austrian based product distribution business. So watch before you click on Amazon.....
  2. I'm surprised by how many armor kits that Tamiya now makes in 1/48! Haven't built any myself but I'd like to see one built.
  3. Sad to hear about the Mercedes. My father purchased a 450 SL new in 1974 along with a 450SEL sedan. The SL , we had into the late '80s It was the car I drove all through High School and college... Great fun, great car. We eventually sold it to a collector from Atlanta Georgia... was sad to see it go.
  4. Hey Rob, love the Nissan Skyline...great "Mad Max" looks...but especially because I've been a Nissan fan and owner for more than 30 years. My last Nissan, a '97 240sx has finally given up the ghost after many years of service...I bought it new in '97...it only failed due to body rust...I live in Illinois where the only thing available in quantity is road salt. Poor, poor, beloved, Lovely car..RIP. Anyway, always glad to see that you've purchased new kits, because I Know We'll soon be seeing a great builds! Thanks; Paul.
  5. Thanks, I'll try adjusting the set screw on my Trumpy cutters.
  6. Got some nippers from Amazon today; From GodHand, their GH SPN 120 Ultimate cutters. I've heard a lot of good things about these. I was pleased to find out that they are Japanese made and not Chinese and they look very well made. They are also very sharp. They have the single cutting blade with the other being the "anvil" surface. I've had good luck with the Tamiya cutters I have. The Trumpeter cutters refuse to cut flush.. mine leaves a little wedge behind...don't know why..Bad alignment I suppose. The Xuron cutters I have are great for thicker plastic. These GodHand, well we'll see. Haven't tried them yet.
  7. New video from Andy's: Das Werk large-scale 1/16 German Puma.
  8. I think SOLMODEL resin makes one. I might be wrong
  9. Yes! In 1/16! That would be cool! I would also like to see a large-scale Char 1b bis!
  10. Thanks Harv...good to have you back! I hope you're doing well.
  11. A big haul ( for me) of kits came today! First, from Takom is their French Heavy Tank St Chamond early type. (No.2002) in 1/35. These kits, the early versions, are getting hard to find. Hobby Boss makes some but I don't know much about those. Next; is another Takom kit in 1/35. Their M29 Weasel (No.2167). Man! This kit is tiny! Oddly it includes link & length tracks when the actual vehicle used rubber tracks similar to the Ontos. Next; from Das Werk, is their Schwimmwagen Trippel SG 6/38 (DW 35012) in 1/35. I knew I was going to get this kit when it was announced. It's odd-looking appearance appealed to me. Last; from Border, is their IJA 28cm Howitzer Russo-Japanese War 1905 (BT-030) in 1/35. Another odd subject. My first Border kit, it looks like Decent kit. I've added a picture of an actual Trippel .....See what I mean? Odd-looking!
  12. I'd like to see an early cast hull Sherman myself.....or a Lee. Incidentally, Andy just posted a video announcing a big-scale Puma armored car from Das Werk ...looks interesting!
  13. Looking nice Martin, perhaps I'll dig mine out and finish it!
  14. I have a Thunder Model German rail car kit..their kits look pretty good!
  15. Have both of Andy's big Shermans myself... Look like great kits!
  16. Looking forward to this build! The big 200th scale ships they sell now are awesome!
  17. Glad to see one of these built-up and Yours looks great ! I've considered building one of these as it's one of my favorites from the original series. A great bit of nostalgia for me!
  18. Hey, nice! Looks great. Tamiya 1/12 motorcycle kits look great...have the Honda Monkey. I built a few ow the Tamiya 1/6 motorcycle kits years ago . Harleys and a BMW police bike cool. After built up...very fragile! I still have a Honda 1/6 police bike in my stash..Tamiya. Been there 20 years! I'll build this relic some day! The decals, well they still look good. Again, nice build!
  19. Another Self-designed Vistaprint Mug came today. This time featuring my all-time favorite tank....the Renault Ft...A "cute" tank, that is until its 37 mm or Hotchkiss 1914 started throwing metal in your direction. Well, I'm happy with these mugs, they replaced some that I lost in my last move. Like I said before, the quality looks good and I got them fast.
  20. Great work, Ron! I was looking at that AFV detail kit myself.... I see you got the last One! Anyway, they also got the Ammo rack for the StuG...but I don't think that would be too hard to scratch build. I'm glad that your doing this build.... I'm looking forward to building mine....It's an inspiration thing. Presently, I'm Hung up on a 1/35 Brummbar right now ...got to do the cammo then I'm done. Will be watching your build.
  21. Some things for my recently purchased Tamiya He126 A-2..... From Eduard some masks (#EX182). In 1/48. And; From Quinta Studios, An interior kit for the He126 (QD 48106) I never tried anything from Quinta before...looks interesting.
  22. Good idea on the track pin, Ron. I also have the big Das Werk stug. This will work on both kits. I was debating putting on the suspension last when I build these kits....worried about it being damaged from handling. Pre-painting the back end of the tank also a smart idea.
  23. Something different.... An aircraft, not a big tank. From Tamiya; it's their 1/48 Heinkel He162 A-2 "Salamander" (61097). Using up my Tower Hobbies "loyalty rewards" points I spent just $16.00 For the kit. A while back I had a dispute with Tower Hobbies regarding an order that they canceled without any notification. An angry email from me resulted in 2000 points given to me. a value of about $50.00. I've been using them up since then....plus a $10.00 "birthday" reward. Anyway, it looks like a good kit. Released in 2006. An interesting subject; I've been wanting to build a 126...mainly the big Revell kit but I can't find that one anywhere.. one.
