  1. Looking great Rob! Hope you get the parts replaced. Twice in the last few months I was able to get replacement parts from Tamiya USA......Free of charge! Including "polycaps" and a set of decals.
  2. Just arrived... I found this kit online at a site for Knoble Knight Games. From FineMolds, their Type 95 "Ha-Go" (FM16SP2) in 1/35 This kit is due to be re-released sometime in Oct of this year but has been hard to find for a while. The quality of these Fine Molds kits looks good. I also have their Type 89 kit. Painting these will be challenging, I think. Not sure how to tackle that yellow stripe thing the Japanese did. The camouflage was either sprayed or hard-edged brush painted. This thing is small enough to be painted with a paint brush. Anyway, We'll see. Glad to have found it.
  3. Went to a Hobby shop today in Kenosha and found this item. By Italeri it's their ABM 41/42 with 47/32 AT Gun (6455) in 1/35. Not a big buyer of Italeri kits in the past.....I bought this one as it is of an Interesting subject. The kit looks pretty decent. It came out in 2007and is apparently out of production. It has 247 parts, including photo-etch, "rubber" tires (2 types) and a turned aluminum barrel.
  4. I must have about eight of these "Egg Girl" kits with two more on the way. A lot of these are sold on Amazon and EBAY at inflated prices. These appear to be limited run kits and when the run ends prices go up. Plaza Japan has them for $24 US....A good price I Think. Anyway I recently ordered one from Amazon. Well, Amazon decided to combine shipment with this and a case of Glucerna shakes. The items came in one large box, loosely packed. Well, the box of Glucerna weighed about 20 lbs and the Egg Girl box almost nothing. Needless to say, the Hasegawa Egg Girl box was crushed. Fortunately, Hasegawa wraps the product in bubble wrap and the kit itself was ok. I called Amazon customer service to make them aware of their stupidity using colorful language.
  5. Thanks I did a pinwash to highlight the details on the turret especially on the welds. This isn't seen in my pics. The mantlet cover was initially painted khaki, but this looked too stark, so I used brown pinwash on it then used a AK green weathering pencil with water to make it look like the Fabric used on the mantlet covers of these tanks.
  6. If these are the same as the God Hand nippers they must be pretty nice! Thanks, I'll will take a look at these. I've been pretty impressed by the God Hand nipper I have.
  7. I may get one of those Tamiya Tomcats. ! Haven't built a Tomcat since I built the big Tamiya Tomcat in 1983.
  8. An armed Rei Hazumi Egg Girl would make an interesting juxtaposition and the M 134 minigun would fit the bill!
  9. I think the little armory stuff is 1/12...same as the Egg Girls. I was thinking of arming the Rei Hazumi Egg Girl figure with an AK or a type 38 Arisaka.
  10. Two items came from Plaza Japan. First, from Tamiya, their WW I British Tank Mk. IV Male (w/Single Motor) #30057 in 1/35. I wanted this one since it was released (despite the motor) but I thought the $100+ US price was too steep for anything in 1/35. However, Plaza Japan had it for $34 US not bad...so I jumped. Also from Plaza Japan came Tamiya's Monkey 40th Anniversary (16032) in 1/6 scale. This boxing includes different marking choices and added parts than the Monkey in 1/6 I bought recently. I got this kit for about half the price I saw on Amazon.......... So, all things considered even with the pricy over seas shipping....I got both kits for less than the price of the MK. IV alone ,if I ordered it from a US supplier. I also got three more of those Hasegawa "Egg Girls" that I ordered earlier..... Those came on Monday. The Egg Girls sell for about half the price on Plaza's website. I won't trouble you with those in this posting.......unless. P.S. the Monkey 1/6 kit was $28 US.
  11. Mine was built from a pre 1917 hex receiver and had whatever markings on the receiver ring neatly machined off. So who knows when or where the donor rifle was made. I also had in my collection a Remington contract made example of the '91...talk about nice. That one was in beautiful condition. Nicely finished in blue with an American black walnut stock
  12. I had a Finnish reworked Mosin Nagant......A M 27 I think, it had a very heavy barrel and shot well. Always wanted a Lahti pistol but could never find one.
  13. Nice Work! The painting on the fountain is spot on!
  14. Items on the bench...... Still working on the Friuls for my JSU-152. Got one side done and almost done with the other. I found that my Dspiae rotary tool really speeds up drilling the track pin holes. Also been working on the T 55a....Got the painting done. I will have to build a set of Friul tracks for this one too.
  15. There is a rotary valve between the cylinders that controls direction and can , in a limited sense, control speed, but no, you can't get this thing to run slowly. Your build looks great.
  16. Yes, It's an Opel blitz...Tamiya being afraid to use the Opel name due to trademark infringement problems probably.... My bad, forgot about that. I have the same kit. I had to buy a decal (Archer transfers) for the name on the grille because The name plate on the grille is blank in the kit.
  17. Very nice! Is that the Tamiya Blitz?
  18. Not sure if I sold anyone on the idea of posting a Hasegawa "Egg Girl" build😃
  19. Looks Great! Well done. That's got to be one of the coolest looking military vehicles out there!
  20. "Here I am... Stuck in the middle with you"
  21. Looks like a great kit. I built the tamiya kit in the 80s and would Like to do a warthog now that the kits are so good!
  22. Today, A big-scale model of a small motorcycle. From Tamiya, their Honda Monkey 2000 anniversary (16030) in 1/6 scale. I already have the 1/12 scale version but will probably build this big one first. Looks like a good one.
  23. Looking good! The Cutlass was surely one odd bird!
  24. Thanks, not a model RR just a couple of locos and some track. I Here's a Video of mine of the Cranko o gauge live steam loco Running on some Lionel track. The coaches were made by Hafner. They are there just to slow the Loco down. The Loco Is powered by two single-acting oscillating cylinders. The 6 drivers are quartered and are driven using side rods. The cylinders can be reversed using a rotary valve between the cylinders.
