  1. Not cheating. I have some sort of chrome silver paint marker that works great for painting headlights... I have others I plan to use.
  2. Thanks. It's Marley coffee "Buffalo Soldier" for me.
  3. Not modeling related, but....... A new Keurig Supreme plus Coffee Maker...a Vital need for the home......I did get a few sets of Friulmodel tracks, some paint brushes an a few Egg Girls but this is by far a priority. Lately, I've been unable to do any modeling because of a nasty Achilles tendon injury. I have to keep my leg elevated and immobile. Coffee is a huge part of my life since I was about 12. Anyway this thing is awesome...best coffee ever! It has been Impossible for me to get back to my home to do any work.....Stuck at Mom's where I've been for most of this year due to her injuries. So, I stay up late and read. I did go for a drive today, but it proved to be a bad idea. Maybe things will get better by next week.
  4. Thanks I'll have a look on the Plaza Japan site for those kits. I have 2 of the Miniart 1/24 Bulldogs and I was wondering what to do with them as to weathering. I was thinking how to do faded paint, rust and chips. Well, experiment anyway.
  5. Had a polycap crisis with my Churchill build....still have no idea where they Went...Anyway emailed Tamiya and got them free in a few days....hope you find some. I wouldn't want your build sidelined.
  6. Great work Rob and nice discussion on new techniques. I've see these kits before and I like them...something different. Your treatment is excellent as expected and lends itself for use on other subjects. I have recently had an interest in a different subject matter..... That is, those egg girl kits I've been accumulating. Although I don't think I'll post those builds here. I also thought the Techniques your showing here could be applied to some tractor models , Miniart's 1/24 ...lanz bulldogs. Thanks for posting Rob. By the way......like the Welder girl... She should get an apron...but where's the fun in that? I'm looking on with interest
  7. Thanks for the review. They are indeed interesting little beasties often appearing in archival footage of Germany during and postwar. I have one of these.....a flatbed version It is an amazing kit.
  8. Yes, Tamiya X-22 works great. I use it all the time. I have a few kits that require gloss finishes I'd love to build. They are kind of small so the area covered won't be so big and maybe I'll be ok . looking forward to seeing your work!
  9. I've always liked the looks of these types of race cars but I was afraid to do one because of the gloss finishes required, decaling etc. I would Like to see a build of one of these on the forum.
  10. Looks great! I hope you saved that other building....the Cafe...it was beautiful! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the new building. Are you going to add vehicles and people as well?
  11. I knew that method was used on piston engines but didn't know it was used on B52's....Cool! I remember the scene from the original Flight of the Phoenix movie with Jimmy Stewart where cartridges were used to start the engine.
  12. Some vendors in the US charge inflated prices for these. The lowest price I found is $ 39.00 USD. Two other online shops charge about $ 46.00 USD. The worst charges $ 64.00 USD. No, I don't buy from him. Getting them straight from Friulmodel was the cheapest by far......but the long wait. Anyway I have a couple sets on the way . and may buy a third then I think I'm done buying for a while.
  13. Got some more Friulmodel tracks today........I know, so what else is new? Well, this time I ordered these directly from The maker in Hungary. Ordered on the 17 of Sept. they came today ....Oct. 4. Not too bad, I guess. It took about a week to "process" the order..the balance.. shipping time. The ATL-13 for my Tamiya Marder 3. The ATL-59 will be used on my Tamiya Marder 1 .....that kit has excellent link & length tracks but I thought these would be nice. Friulmodel sells these for about $ 29.54 USD.
  14. I use those wax pencil things as well...bought on Amazon. I find that if you rub a little off the tip before use they stick better. I took me a long time to find a sharpener that worked well on these...it's easy to break the tip off when sharpening. Nice work on the Sheridan!
  15. I have projects coming up involving the use of Gunze GSI Creos Mr Color paints. And would appreciate any info as I'm not too familiar with them. Do they brush well (paint brush)? They are lacquer, I assume so leveling thinner would be used. I know the have a water based line, right? The manufacturer of these kits recommendeds these colors, so that's what'll use.
  16. Seems like a great place. I order from them frequently and their service is great. They get orders shipped quickly...in hours not days and their rates are reasonable . They answer emails quickly and are happy to answer any questions. I'm a big fan. If I'm ever in the area I'll definitely drop in.
  17. Outstanding work ! Beautiful results!
  18. I saw that! That's one I plan to get.
  19. Amazing work so far! The tiny size and complexity of the PE is unbelievable!
  20. Very nice! Brazilian markings?
