  1. Cool project, looking great. I built a few black powder rifles from CVA kits back in the 80's nothing like the quality of your build....but fun nonetheless😀
  2. I remember that one Rob😀 I was hoping to find something like Iraq war graffiti decals for it. Since there's no decal markings in the kit I guess I'll have to make an effort to weather this thing to make it not look so plain. I have some friul tracks on the way......With the Tiran, that's two sets of Friul tracks for the T-55 I've ordered in as many weeks...but they're worth It in this Case. A long while back I ordered a set of Eduard PE screens for the Enigma by mistake.....Now I can use them! Yes, In some cases people are trying to get stupid money for these things...I paid about the same as a new 1/35 kit...about the same as a Dragon kit in 1/35 (I will Never buy a Dragon kit)
  3. No, but I did click on that exact same listing and seller while browsing on EBAY .....strange🤔 .
  4. Nice work FA😀 I've been looking into the Zvezda UAZ 3909 , an interesting little 4x4 van thingie.....looks like a good kit
  5. I've found that those little disposable dental brushes work well in combination with Tamiya airbrush cleaner. A small, pointed, liner paint brush inserted from the rear will clean Iwata nozzle tips. Push it through until the brush hairs come through again using the tamiya airbrush cleaner.
  6. A pair of kits by Tamiya one of which is not readily found...............😀!!!! Yes, I really found one!!!. From Tamiya, its their Iraqi Tank T-55 "Enigma" (35324) .I've built two Tamiya T-55 before...fun builds. Next, Tamiya's , Mig 15 bis (61043). This is a 1996 release and is still said to be a good build. This was still sealed, but I opened it to put the masks (Eduard) in the box....looks good. I would like to do it up in camouflage..... Perhaps something Cuban, if I can find the decals..otherwise something unusual. The Enigma T-55 is good.....all parts still sealed (stapled) in their bags and contents looking new. The Tamiya Enigma is offered on EBAY at sometimes ridiculous prices, and I know that Miniart (Manypart) has a new mold. But this is the kit I wanted. I'm glad to say I did not pay a obscene amount for this thing. I've found that if you find a seller that does not usually sell models you can get things at a better price. I have another kit from Tamiya coming....perhaps Monday, that I really have been looking for forever, but usually appears in a boxing I don't want.....found the one I wanted...Normal USAF markings. The Tamiya Mig 15 bis.
  7. All cool stuff......I have yet to buy the big spitfire(s) from Airfix.......but a new Mold oversize (1/24) Me 109 intrigues me.. I recently Got two new nice Air brushes... I want to try these out, but, currently, circumstances have kept me away from the bench. I hear Gecko is coming out with a 1/16 marder II....sounds cool. Lately I have been concentrating on OOP Tamiya Kits......ones I missed the first time around. I've said it before, this is a golden age for model kits....both in variety and in quality.
  8. Didn't know about this kit. It'll be interesting to see how it builds up😀
  9. Some recent finds........ First from Tamiya; Their Dewoitine D 520 in 1/48 scale (61048). I've been looking for this one for some time😀 Finally found this on EBAY....and it wasn't listed for a stupid price!!! The kit is perfect, all bags sealed (stapled). Decals look good. Very pleased. Next...... Also from Tamiya, It's their M1046 HUMVEE TOW MISSILE CARRIER in 1/35 (35267). OOP, hard to find, and usually ridiculously priced, I found this thing at a good price and it's like new😀 Last.... Yet another Tamiya offering; this was a gift from a family member...... I'ts Tamiya's Ki-61-Id Hien & 4x4 Kurogane. (25203) in 1/48.😀 Looks like a great kit. One question however.... Was the Type-95 Kurogane Designed with cuteness in mind? I mean, just look at the thing!! Anyway, been trying to find "bucket list" tamiya kits for some time😀 Type-95 Kurogane............cute? And yes, I feel uncomfortable using that word concerning a military vehicle......but just look at the thing!
  10. Cool kit Carl😀 I would also like to see a WIP!!
  11. Yes, the kit came out in 2013 and does include many new parts despite being based on their T-55A kit. I noticed that the upper hull and turret are new and ,of course, all the Israeli mods. I didn't know that the main gun was replaced with the 105mm from the M48/M60 tanks. These tanks have an interesting history . It made fun reading. Also, there were various colors used on these depending on the time period. The instructions state that the markings are for an 1980's era tank. I ordered some Mr. Color sand gray 2 1981 (Golan) paint from the Brothers Sprue, and Friuls already. I would like to see how that miniart kit buils up😀
  12. Great looking cockpit! Nice work😀
  13. Well, I was considering building another Tamiya T 55A but I didn't expect to find this......... From Tamiya it's their, Israeli Tank Tiran 5 (35328) in 1/35 scale. I haven't seen one these for a while😀 Found on EBAY . I'm happy to have found it! It's new and complete with all parts sealed in their bags.
  14. Thanks, No, there's no interior. The basic kit dates back to the late 80's with this version is from 1992. Despite the lack of interior it's not too bad a kit. The tracks are bad however, and needed replacement. Some corrected sprockets came with the track set , but I chose to use the kit's sprockets because they can be rotated. Threading the tracks on would be impossible after assembly If they didn't turn. It was a compromise between accuracy ease of build. Anyway the sprockets are mostly hidden under the fender skirt at the front. Anyway I'm hoping the decals are ok. I have hope that they're fine as they're still in a sealed packet
  15. Been working on this.....Tamiya AAVP7A1. Assembly done. Putting a set of Friulmodel tracks on. I had to modify the kit's sprockets by inserting a styrene disc inside the sprocket halves to widen the distance between the teeth to fit the tracks.......It worked pefectly😀 I finished one side. I also still have to paint the H 39 I posted last time The tracks are Friulmodel ATL-78. Same as the early M2 Bradley.
  16. I have not used these but others on the forum have https://www.1manarmy.be/about-us
  17. No, not amazing,...Typical .
  18. Found this on EBAY.....still sealed in its shrink wrapping........... It's Tamiya's 1/48 scale Dornier Do335A Pfiel (61074). This odd-looking aircraft has always intrigued me. I heard that this is a pretty good kit and I was looking into getting one. Has anyone on this forum built this kit? Thanks; Paul, the Belugawhaleman https://www.scalemates.com/kits/tamiya-61074-dornier-do-335a-pfeil--128428
  19. Wow! Even in 1/72 that thing is Huge! Nice work!! How does the kit go together?
  20. items arrived today some OOP Tamiya kits, An EBR-10 from HobbyBoss. Friulmodel Tracks Some rivet detail from ARCHER Some details for my Tamiya Comet by TREX and Master....3D details and gun barrels. The Resin stuff looks great....but fragile A pair of nippers from Godhand. These are for cutting tape The Godhand stuff is high quality.... And highly recommended. A dusting brush from Tamiya. I was glad to find the EBR-10 kit on EBAY for much cheaper than other sources. I wanted to build this example of French Military strangeness for some time. I was looking for the Beaufighter , the all black version, glad I found it. A great looking kit😀 The Tamiya Ford GPA was a limited edition kit released in '08 with Figures by ICM of Soviet Tankers. This kit does not include the updates of Tamiya's '13 re-release of the GPA...that included an addition of an engine ( from their 1/35 Jeep, I think) and photo-etch parts. The Tamiya Kawanishi Kyofu....well, I didn't know that one existed 😀 I thought it was cool😀 I built this kit back in the late 70's
