  1. I'm really liking this.
  2. Cool! Looking forward to this one.
  3. Turned out nice. I recently got the Tamiya 1/32 Mk. IX. Whenever I get to that, it'll be the first Spitfire since I built the Airfix 1/24 kit in the Eighties.....About time, I think. Some of the old Monogram kits weren't too bad. I remember building their Skyraider , P 47,AT 6, P 39, , B 24, B 17, F 84, F 101, and F 104. Nice memories. Never did finish that B-29 however.
  4. Nice Work! That exhaust deflector looks dead on!
  5. Hubert, just curious, how do you feel about 1/16 scale?😀
  6. I think it's in 1/350. I was expecting 1/200 considering the detail ! https://www.scalemates.com/kits/border-model-bs-004-yamato--1554338
  7. I think it looks great! Not many could mask and paint as you did.
  8. Hey, I really like how your build came out!...looks great and such a cool subject!
  9. Well, Hubert, Jeroen still had to research, interpret images of the real items, design the item to scale etc. to produce the the part to to add to his excellent build....I take these skills as impressive. I'll take your comments as encouraging to those who wish to try 3d printing. Beyond my capabilities, for now I don't have the equipment or knowledge to do this myself....but I'd love to give it a try! Thanks😀😉
  10. Oh, I see. Thanks
  11. Your use of 3d printing to create parts is phenomenal. I can only dream of such capabilities! The printed parts look great! Enjoying your build.
  12. Yes, I saw (read) that. Keyboard problems? I have that trouble with my kindle fire. So did the the other guy.😉
  13. Nice upgrade. I remember seeing those spikey things on a website and having no idea what they were! Now I know.
  14. Very nice work! Like your scratch building skills!
  15. Thanks Carl, but the instructions don't show a working suspension both are fixed I believe. The M113 has that option. The springs on the Puma are leaf springs and are solidly molded. Anyway, I'd love to do a build log, and will when it's time. The larger size probably fits me better. Today I failed trying to assemble a tiny photo-etch Assembly on a 1/35 kit....I ended up breaking the part. I think I'll try to duplicate the part with styrene. Anyway AFV modeler sells Puma parts.....expensive but really nice. I've bought from them before. As a side note; the figures in these kits, ( Andy's and Das Werk) are very nice.....both are by Jason and are Takom. As for the variant you prefer, it's possible that one might come out...Or that SOL will make a conversion.... Look on the SOL site, they offer complete turrets for the Sherman including an IDF version.....So why not a Puma Variant? Thanks again; Paul. BTW I remember that Video😀 and the review etc. Here's a video.
  16. I got this today...I wasn't sure that I'd get this thing at first but I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Well it's the big 1/16 scale Sd.Kfz. 234/2 "Puma" by Das Werk (DW 16006). At first sight I was surprised that the box wasn't bigger........Looking at the parts inside showed that this thing will be massive. Oddly, this kit offers two options for the suspension; the regular version, and apparently, a simplified option. There is a figure; he sits on top the turret smoking a cigarette legs partially crossed. A metal barrel is included as are four options for markings. This can be built as a normal or command version. The tires, all nine, are vinyl or some other rubbery stuff, but they look O.K. I didn't notice any seams to clean up on these. Anyway looks promising. As an aside; I hope my posts on this topic are worthwhile to some members on this forum. I post these to share my enthusiasm for the hobby and to share what is available on the market..That's the reason I follow this topic.....it's informative and I appreciate anyone who has taken the time to post.
  17. I've always had problems painting gloss yellow......in fact one of my reoccurring nightmares is painting a 1/24 scale school bus.....yellow and black...I shudder just thinking about it!
  18. Shipping is high. I buy items and try to keep the cost under $ 30.00usd by considering the size of the items I buy. You can choose regular post and save. If you choose, for example, fedex, shipping is quick-a few days-but processing the order can take a week before its shipped. I only buy from them when I see significant savings on a item. On Tamiya kits you can save a lot.
  19. Yes, the Plaza Japan search engine has undergone some changes, and not for the better. I used to just put in "Tamiya 1/35" for example and get everything that Tamiya makes in 1/35......not anymore. It has become useless. I hope this is only temporary. As for the F 15 in 1/32 Tamiya makes some. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/tamiya-60312-mcdonnell-douglas-f-15e-strike-eagle--131021 The trick to the Plaza search is to use the column on the left Side of the page. Select plastic models, aircraft, brand and you'll find what you need....eventually. https://www.plazajapan.com/4950344603121/ https://www.plazajapan.com/4950344603046/ https://www.plazajapan.com/4950344603077/
  20. Yes, they've been out for awhile.....since , I think around 2002. They are nice kits. There is also a European theater version. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/tamiya-36202-german-kuebelwagen-type-82--203643
  21. This came today..... From Tamiya, it's their; German Kubelwagen Type 82 Africa-Corps W/Feldmarschall Rommel (36202) in 1/16 scale. I was glad to see these back in stock on some online stores. Mine came from Squadron . Besides the Rommel figure, there's a driver figure included, and lot's of accessories and detail including a full engine. A nice kit. A Soviet GAZ-67, or even better, a Japanese type 95 Kurogane would be welcome (by myself,at least) in this scale.
