This came today...... From Tamiya, their BMW R75 POLICE TYPE (16006**11000) In 1/6 scale. I made this thing years ago when I was on-break from college.Turned out nice, but Was thrown out with all my other models by my parents later on...... This one was sealed in plastic....All the parts still in their bags along with the decals. I'm thinking that these were re-released in the early 2000's.This one is definitely new-looking. I've always liked these big Tamiya motorcycles. They're fun to build . look great, but can be kind of Fragile on the shelf. Anyway.....here are some pics.๐

Oh, I forgot about that one!!! Sign me up for that one too........๐ Seriously, The Chaffee is one good-looking tank. I'm glad to see that Tamiya is coming out with a new tooling..

Got these today...... First, from Zvezda, Russian Military Van UAZ 3909 (3644) in 1/35. The kit doesn't look too bad....kind of ICM ish. Pouring over the instructions shows that it has pretty good detail. I first saw this vehicle on a couple of episodes of Jeremy Wade's River Monsters of all places. At the time I wondered if someone made a model of it. Then I discovered this kit. Seriously, I'm not thrilled that it's Made in Russia.... But, there you go. I hope nobody is going to get political about this. I bought it because it is the only 1/35 kit available for this subject. Anyway, building this Bread loaf looking van will be fun I think. Next, a set of Friulmodel tracks for the L6/40 Italian tank I bought earlier....

I built that kit in 1983๐ -
Got this today..... Back to buying plastic models, I found this Tamiya Italian Light Tank L6/40 (89783). This is one of those Italeri/Tamiya "cooperation" kits. Tamiya has added figures and photo-etch and new decals . Not an easy kit to find, I've been looking for a while to find one of these. I like the looks of this little tank and I like the unusual suspension configuration. It has link & length tracks but I'll probably use Friulmodel tracks.

Thanks Carl. I now have four. My first is several years old now. The huge improvement in quality and design of these engines has sparked a new interest in them. They are much improved๐

Got this by Fedex yesterday.......While not a Kit, it is a model....and large scale. It's another Engine by Okmo/Retrol. Not sure of the actual scale. This is a scaled down version of a Baker Monitor ball top engine from 1910 or thereabouts. These engines were made in Evansville Wisconsin and were popular. Again, this is a working, Internal combustion, four-stroke engine. It is single cylinder and water cooled. It is fitted with a governer and is a "hit / miss" engine. I really have to hand it to The manufacturer; its beautiful. Very nicely finished and solid. I added an image of an original engine๐ I haven't had a chance to get it running because of a nasty laceration to my Right fourth finger tip. It's Hard to believe how crucial that finger is......I can't do anything at the moment! Well, not really , but it is pretty inconvenient.

Looking great. Nice progress๐ -
Thanks. I'm using Coleman lantern fuel (naptha) with some Marvel Mystery oil added . Zippo lighter fluid can also be used, but the Coleman stuff is better quality.

Beautiful!!๐

My recently purchased Benz engine running...... I wanted to see if I could upload videos directly from my Kindle tablet.....I can๐ Anyway, I found the correct needle valve and throttle settings so that I can now start this thing easily. It runs great....I try to run this as slowly as possible. The video's sound is a bit off.....it sounds better in person. VID_20260130_140448.mp4

Amazing work๐ -
It's a nice kit. I have one, and over time I have purchased from AFV modeler some stuff for a more complete interior.....Should be fun if I ever get a chance to build it๐ I would enjoy seeing your build posted here on the forum.

I would like to build a skyraider myself . i have the Tamiya 1/48 model. I've been kind of dormant myself. The weather is bad here. We had to replace Mom's furnace a week ago...got it done in time for the cold weather, but we had to rely on space heaters for a Couple of days....it was dicey, but like I said, we got it done. I've been staying with her to make sure she's safe and to take her to doctor's appointments (2) . I've been trying to do a little work on the Bradley ODS while at her house. John, I would like to see you Build the Skyraider๐ Oh, been feeding some very cold Squirrels.

A little more work done after putting it aside for a day....... The M2A2 ODS proceeds. Turret needs the range finder, otherwise its mostly complete. I need to add tools and to build up the tracks. So far? A nice build. -
Great stuff Carl๐ I've been interested in that big Fiat myself .
