Some great stuff there! I have the other CSM kit of their Lancia. They are great kits!

😙Today my package came from Burbank's House of Hobbies. It contained two items: First, another one from Tamiya; their German Tank Destroyer Marder III. Sd.Kfz.139 7.62cm Pak 36 (r) and Gw.38(t). This was the Panzer 38(t) chassis with A captured Soviet F-22 1936 gun mounted on it. The Germans, however made a bunch of modifications to the gun first; They re-chambered the gun, modified its recoil system, relocated the elevation contols, changed the sight, and added a muzzle brake. They then called it the FK 296 (R). I've been thinking about buying this kit for some time. I liked its odd looks and history. The kit Is like the Panzer 38(t) I built recently..... With the exception of the tracks which are of the "rubberband" type, but really, they look pretty good. I also bought an Aber barrel for the kit; their Barrel for German Tank Destroyer Sd.Kfz.139 Marder III 7.62mm Pak 36 (R).

Sad to hear. Leave it to Beaver was a great family show from an era that didn't have shows like today's shows that feature vulgarity, stupidly, "political correctness" and other progressive trash. The shows of that era entertained, while also sometimes giving a moral lesson. Tony will be missed.

Looks great John! -
Any words/opinions on this outfit? Placed an order with them last week.....no progress! WTH! Order hasn't been "pulled from warehouse" or shipped..... Nothing! Still "processing". They have my money.....Great! We'll take our time....Sprue brothers, Burbanks, and Tower Hobbies ship the same day! 5 days......nothing! Really, honestly, I've had no ( big) problems with them in the past.....but seriously? This is Kitlinx territory! Forgive me... But I needed to vent! ...... I feel better now!

A next day delivery from nearby Tower Hobbies came this afternoon: It's Tamiya's German Self-Propelled Howitzer Wespe "Italian Front". (35358) This is a 2018 re-release of a 1996 kit with new parts added. New parts include build-up tracks molded in lengths, two link, and three link sections. They are nicely,....almost delicately molded . They feature realistic sag, and they look great! Also new is a set of figures with accessories on a 2018 marked sprue. The barrel is molded in halves, and I may order an Aber replacement. The Aber barrel requires cutting the breach end and other parts off the kit barrel. The kit barrel is short, so I don't think the seam will be much trouble to deal with anyway. This is a small kit of a small vehicle, being based on the Panzer 2 chassis. I think It will be a nice build. Update: added a pic of one of the new track sprues.

Just got an email from them with tracking info and a message to expect shipping to take 16 to 23 days.

Thanks all, mostly just feeling a bit older.

Anyone else order from this outfit? I've just ordered a couple of things from them I couldn't find anywhere else at pretty good prices...... Still pretty cheap including the the shipping. I've ordered from them before without any problems.... But not recently. What are your experiences? Have things changed with recent covid and supply-chain issues?

Sorry to hear about your dogs health problems.....it can be tough especially when Your dog is still so young. Still, let's hope for the best and your dog responds well to treatment. Paul.

Looking great! Your post is practically a tutorial on weathering armor, thanks! -
Looks like an interesting conversion! I have a couple of those Tamiya t55 kits, I was planning on doing one in 1970's Cuban camouflage but that conversion of yours looks Tempting...where did you get it? Update: saw it on Sprue Brothers. Too expensive for me at the moment!

Ok, so another one came today. Another Tamiya kit. This one getting hard to find, at least in 1/35 scale. The Steyr 1500a is more commonly found today in the form of Tamiya's 1/48 scale kits.........1/48 scale armor ....really? Let's not even discuss 1/72 or 1/76 scales! Well, technically this one is more soft-skin than armor. Anyway I liked the looks of this one......couldn't find it In stock at my usual places.......found it on line at a site in Texas. It's sold for about the same price as the 1/48 kits....strange that. My favorite is the commander version. Anyway the kit I bought is German S.gl. Pkw Steyr 1500A/01 (35225). It looks like a neat little kit. A simple build of an interesting little vehicle.

Working on Tamiya's M3 Stuart right now. Not much to show right now. Had an aftermarket barrel by Master to use but found I couldn't make it work with this kit the kit barrel is about 5/16 inch shorter. It would have required cutting the aftermarket barrel. Drilling out the Kit mantlet.... Well, I don't think that would have worked as it would leave little support for the mantlet and make the assembly Inoperable. So 86 on that. I have some aftermarket M1919 barrels by Master but I decided they would work better on another kit. So..this will be just an OOB build...... ..with the exception of the decals. The decals will be for a 1950's Cuban tank. I don't have much to show right now, but may post on works in progress. Basically, I have the hull assembled minus the bogies. These have to be assembled after painting the separate parts. I'm going to mask and paint the wheels first, then assemble the painted suspension halves and touch them up after assembly. I'm not willing to try hand painting the tires with the suspension assembled. I will mask the road wheels using tape cut with Dspiae cutter. Painting the wheel olive, mask in the center then painting the tires. Sorry about the lousy picture, ill follow up later. -
A couple items from Tamiya today: First, their German 3 ton 4x2 Cargo TruckTruck (35291), known to the rest of us as the "Opel Blitz". Seems like a nice little kit. Also bought some Tamiya putty basic type. Never used their putty before and wanted To give it a try. Not sure why it's labeled as " basic". Do they offer a more sophisticated or "complex" putty for advanced builders? Anyway, working on their M3 Stuart right now and it's a nice kit. I have some aftermarket that'll work for it I might use, but progress on it has been slow......will post some pics later.

Was thinking about buying one of those myself. Cool! Trumpeter makes a lot of interesting Russian stuff!

Another product from ABER came today; this time their #35 L-40 Russian 152.4 mm ML-20S Barrel for ISU-152. Although meant for the Italeri & Zvezda kits, I'm going to use it on my Tamiya JSU-152 kit. I read a review on the Perth Military Modelling site that it can be used on the Tamiya kit by gluing three .5mm (.020) strips of styrene on the stub-end of the barrel to shim so that it fits the Tamiya part. I'm glad to hear this as the ABER parts look great, especially the brass muzzle-brake. I bought some some styrene strips today. http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com
