  1. I'll probably end up starting it, but I need some space for the hull... Also I'm going to go against convention, and paint her in measure 32 as when commissioned, as opposed to ms22 when surrender was signed. just to be different
  2. It just happened so quickly! I stumbled into the store and rolled out and there it was under my arm... lol I watched the youtube series from the "midwest model shop" about the USS Enterprose (the CV-6), and wanted that, but the Pontos was wildly expensive... so I looked at another video, and decided I need a "dreadnaught" in my collection. Tge kit gets mostly good reviews, and the PE looks to be fairly ok-ish. Lots of fiddly bits, but also lots of visual pleasure! I was just going to get a few Eduard sets for it, but they're hard to come by so I'm going to do the Pontos for this one. Cheers!
  3. accidentally picked up a USS Missouri in 1/200... now I NEED the Pontos aftermarket for it... wife is starting to wonder, but she did just spend a bunch on her hobby, so I "deserve" some love too... lol
  4. Glad you're safe Ernie, all the material stuff can be fixed, is the lives that can't be mended. Closest I ever was to a big tornado (was declared F4/5) was when it struck in Manitoba, it ran from Lake Winnipeg to the Ontario border just north of Lac Du Bonnet. I had to fly MB hydro the day after, and there were lattice mast towers twisted into the ground like busted beercans... round bales moved over several fields still intact, and a trailer moved from one side of the airfield to the other with almost zero damage to the building... crazy. Tornadoes are scary!
  5. That new AK Metallic wax paint looks to work nice, and stretches far too. I've seen the brass one used on ship models lately and it turns out very nice. Come in a tube similar to oil paints.
  6. F-111A Cockpit from Reskit in the works. Just dry fitting. This is sitting at the bench in Winnipeg whilst I'm enjoying a damp afternoon in Lafayette, LA... Short notice sim training, but headed back home tomorrow. CHeers!
  7. I'm always (almost always) up for more practice! Hit me up if in Winnipeg!
  8. NAh I was a sailor in the Navy, I have practiced! It seems Wine (all of them) give me bad headaches, some beers, but not all. I CAN drink Cognac without the headache, but these days I prefer light beers and scotch...
  9. I'm thinking of you both! Please stay as sane and calm as you can. And also great that your butt got a break!
  10. Trans Canada Brewing Blueberry Ale... it's dang good. I love Sleemans Honey Brown as well, but it gives me a wicked headache!
  11. A new AH-1Z to replace the one destroyed by 2 moves, and a trumpy USS Ranger (The REAL Original First from the keel up CV-4) in 1/350
  12. I had a break on Friday in the move melee, so the wife and I went out to pick up my xmas raffle prize and birthday present. So I got the Kotare Spit Brian Lane edition and an Academy A-10C with my coins. and then we had dinner out. I didn't get pictures of anything, as it's still a giant mess of boxes everywhere.
  13. I'm seriously considering going to Madison this year... I DO have time off, but the coins are low for the third year in a row...
  14. We'll I stand in solidarity with you in this trying time... We'll make sure not to send you any packages... no sir, nothing...
  15. ICM 72nd Skycrane and 48th Marauder... May just have to!
  16. in 32nd, only the kotare Spitfire so far, in 48h a Sea King and a Gannet for sure. I'm certain there will be more, but those are the first on the list!
  17. Got myself the 32nd Mosquito Mk IV from Hong Kong Models! Just had to get it from my "old Local" store, since In 3 weeks I move back west to Winnipeg and a different hobby shop!
  18. I shot you one as well Jeroen!
  19. Dang the Mako looks purdy!
  20. Dangit! I'm pinching pennies for the upcoming move and future possible house purchase! There are 6 kits on my wants list... The Kotare Spit is one of them...
  21. On MY bench there is precious little... Packing for my PENULTIMATE move! Back to Winnipeg, 1 year in a rental and then perhaps our own house!! Cheers and Happy Festivus
  22. The Sikorsky also has the short sponson on the H-3 A through D and G models. Of more notes, the AC generator bulge on the doghouse, the Tail Boom Strake, the vents in the engine doors, the vent behind the cockpit, and the behind the cargo door fuel option. The 6 blade tail rotor was thought to make i more efficient, but did little more than add weight, but the strake! It really helped! I love the Sea King!
  23. I'm not an Oracle on all things Westland, but I have a depth of knowledge on it, and yes, it is all Westland built for sure. Lots of little details, that the discernible eye will see. I will eventually get several. but not yet.
  24. Holy! I'm jealous as all getout! Both of those are high up on top of my wishlist!
