Kev Very nice work on the Mustang's NMF ... skin looks perfectly smooth with no imperfections - your follow up prep work with the 6000 worked just fine. -

Carl Thank You for the link to the HKM Lanc on sale. I just have no room in my display case any models that large and these days, display space is one of the major factors in deciding whether or not to purchase a particular kit. -

A forum build of the Border Lanc would be great and a treat to follow. I wonder how many of our members purchased the kit and are looking forward to building it in the near future. -

Gaz Always something newly discover in your builds and the plastic wrap is now added to the list. The diorama clay base as all the beginning elements and the footprints a well defined for naturally blending into the scene and not looking like an addon later on. -

Ernie Thank you for your honest and initial opinion of the Border Lanc and comparison to the HKM's kit. I'm not a fan of all the hidden details in any kit, as they just add to the cost for nothing in return when in the display case. Kits with all this detail suffers from a fit issues as a result. ZM comes to mind as I have failed more then once on building their kits do to these issues, most likely my own doing but I would much rather have a kit without all the internal hidden details parts, fits better and of course, cost less as a result. -
Rick Just saw your latest update - awesome progress and the armor plates look mighty good. Loadouts, are so well done.

Rick The prep work looks perfect and I fully understand your reasons for deciding to replace the Eduard PE panels with the Archer's Resin Decal Panels - nothing like peace of mind and they do look mighty good. I have to admit I've never seen them used before and from your update, they apply much differently then the Quinta Resin Decals I use. Any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated.

Kev I can see the rough finish in the gloss black base and wet sanding is the surest way to smooth things out - just a lot of work, -

Gaz Figures look just fine and add in your time restraints, that's a lot of pressure to finish all the various elements of the diorama. My money is riding on you that you will cross the line in time. -

Kev Nice fix on the tailplanes. Just curious as to the million dollar Mustang question: wing rivets. On the three Tamiya Mustangs, all had the rivets: I left them on two and removed them on the third one. Once they were all lined up in the display case, you couldn't tell. -

Carl Awesome progress ... looking so good -
Just arrived yesterday, my Tamiya 1/48 F-16's and a Quinta Cockpit Detail set for each. These days, I buy the Quinta sets and any other AM I need for a build with the kit, so I do not have to face the dreaded: Out of Stock availability note and go searching or even worse, pay a small ransom amount on ebay which is always my last resort. Decals and markings are still undecided.
