  4. Happy New year to all……
  5. Good choice Kev, never seen this built up. it’s quite large if I remember. How extensive is the Eduard set?
  6. Thanks Peter, I hope so. Just need sometime to do it. It’s back to the yoke on Tuesday……….
  7. Thanks Mark, I’ve been looking at this since it came out in 05/06 but always passed it by until eBay listing came up. I always wanted a MTB or PT since seeing, I think it was Tamiya kit of it when I was a kid………
  8. Thanks Rob, I did have a look at the Griffon set for the Vosper, yep that’s a whole lot of PE. If this turns out well I may well look at the Vosper. Unfortunately Griffon do nothing for the PT’s. Apparently so the story goes, they were looking at more firepower on the bow and found an P39 Aircobra 37mm lying used and fitted it. It was so successful they included it in the standard spec. The 40mm was always a multifunctional weapon for air and sea…..
  9. I’ll throw my hat into the group build with the Italeri 1/35 Elco 80' Torpedo Boat PT-596. The brief history is as follows :- The 80' Elco Patrol Torpedo boat was the last of the wartime PT boat development. Hundreds were built by Elco and other companies from 1942-'45, with most of them sent to the Pacific theater. PT-596 was one of the last built, entering service in May 1945. She was attached to Squadron 40 in the Philippines but arrived too late to see action. This was an eBay purchase complete with the crew figures. Included are turned barrels for the 40mm Bofor’s and the 37mm M4. I’ve added Master 50 cal barrels as well. With my track record of figures it’s going to be interesting. Here some box shots etc, stay tuned.
  10. The number of times I used to stand and covet all of the new kits as a kid knowing I couldn’t afford any of them………anyway …….nice selection Rob. I’ve heard good things about Fore, any of them will be brilliant builds……
  11. Never seen these built up, looking forward to the build….
  12. I’ll let the alcohol evaporate a little before I start…..
  13. The PT set of figures are not that good either, the PT does come with some PE, I’ll have to look at Griffon set if there is one. With something this big it would be a shame not to give the full works………
  14. Rob, congratulations on a beautiful Corsair. The weathering as Gaz said is stunningly understated. You have nailed the worn but not abused look. I need to get mine off the SOD. John photographed the part I screwed up so if I may, I’ll borrow from your masterclass on weathering when I’ve fixed my screw up. …..
