  1. Rest in peace old friend, Harvey was my mentor when I returned to the hobby. A true gentleman and kind heart. We never met and that I will always regret. Condolences to his family, blue skies old friend we miss you.
  2. Thanks Carl, I’ll stop immediately then…………….As nobody will want to follow such an inaccurate build…………end….
  3. Very nice indeed, with the two blade prop it just looks a different beast…….
  4. I’ve got the Scammell and the Famo plus Sd.Ah.116 trailer all I need is the loco. Ironically always fancied doing a 35th loco but aren’t they only kitted from Trumpeter 😬…….
  5. Just a little Gus, all the levers must be for winches, drives, clutches etc…..
  6. Thanks Martin, I found the HMVF site by accident but forgotten about, thanks for the heads up. Great pics….
  7. Rob, I’m looking forward to this build, I grabbed the instructions off Scalemates for the Thunder Models to see there are any differences or stuff I could scratch build. How about this for your build, with Border doing 1/35 aircraft etc…..
  8. With the bench clear now, I had four projects which all needed finishing, it’s time to start something afresh. The stash is not large as some of you know, 22 in total so it took awhile to decide or not as the case maybe. This will be new to me as I have never done wheeled recovery / crane vehicle, change is good. I bought this on eBay for significantly less that retail as at some point the box had got damp and smelt of it. Instructions are a little crinkled but decals, plastic and PE all good, the box has been junked. As a child in the 60’s you often saw these old warriors pulling fairgrounds around the country so remember them vividly. From 1936, the British Army began to receive Pioneer heavy recovery vehicles. The first 43 delivered were designated the Pioneer SV1S and the Pioneer SV1T both with a 3-ton folding crane and lockers for recovery equipment and towing bars. Most of these early Pioneer recovery vehicles were lost with the BEF. The Pioneer SV2S had a simpler redesigned extending crane that provided greater lifting height. It was Introduced in 1938 and remained in production throughout the war, with a total of 1,975 built by the end of the war. Among the Pioneer's equipment was a pair of tracks that could be fitted over the two rear wheels, converting it temporarily into a half-track and giving greater traction on soft ground. The last Pioneer recovery vehicle was not retired from the British Army until the 1980s in Belize. Apparently these were highly sorted after by German and Russian armies alike and there are numerous pictures of Scammells under different management. Here is a picture of a Scammell in tandem with Famo pulling a loco….. This is the first time I’ve built IBG, they are out of Poland and I believe been around since 2008. The plastic is of a hard nature with really slim injection tabs. The colour is that biege / orange reminds me of Tristar but not concerned. The mouldings are crisp and detail is so far very good, early days. Stay tuned……
  9. Looking amazing, eyeball Mk 1 is probably the most accurate even though the callipers say otherwise………
  10. Completely missed this one, stunning build as Rob for the scale…….
  11. Fran, you are right, I’m sure this will become another “collectors” item unfortunately………the printing and detail is exceptional…..
  12. This looks amazing and all 3D printed. https://lukgraph.pl/en_GB/p/Caproni-Ca.3-132-scale-full-print-PRE-ORDER/284
  13. With the last of my four current builds requiring a couple of hours more weathering ( stuff needed to dry first) it was time for bench and tool spring clean ………...I know, tidy bench, tidy mind……
  14. Looking mighty fine Rob, there is always one tiny flaw that’s drives you insane and it’s always in the most conspicuous place possible. Also you cannot ever not see it…….
  15. I do like Dspaie Tools, I believe they do scribes but haven’t tried them. My collection of their tools is getting larger they are well engineered….IMHO…
  16. Welcome Mike to LSM, lots of very good modellers here to answer all your questions so feel free and dive in……
  17. Bet some people are tired after the late night viewing, Gus, will Townsend be following Gatland out of the door?
  18. Looking good Gus, Six Nations will curtail benchtime today though , I suspect. Great game yesterday…….
  19. Always admired 8 track 4 channel systems but when I got my first car (1977) car radio cassette players were on the market. Cost me an arm and a leg it was a PYE / Philips system ( UkK - Dutch) …….
  20. My Marantz CD player also which on the blink, it wouldn’t eject CD’s ie the tray activate broke. The mechanism had literally crumbled to an amoral blob. It’s now a matter of stopping the CD and then manually opening the tray with a tab attached to the mechanism. The unit does date from 1987-88….
  21. You ought to run a competition on the exact number of stalled projects in the picture, just think it of keeping the grey cells moving for us greys…….
  22. Don’t tell the good lady as she will say liquidate the whole stash for a good return 🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣
