The most amazing model will hit the shelves this year!
Ryan replied to 1to1scale's topic in Modelling Discussion
We might wait for celebration after they use a color box top pic. -
Yeah I had to edit, the first reply was "mine" instead of FT.
-
Agreed!

It's great stuff Rob, I hate to write this but the local hobby lobby has these in stock all the time. I couldn't imagine not being able to get when needed.
-
Yes valid question. I was going to hit it first with Tamiya Primer to seal them up.
-
Truth be told I would like to paint the tire Tamiya Rubber and stretch over a pre-painted rim. No weathering on the tire.
-
Thanks Wumm.
-
Harv, nice progress I touch my FT every now and then.
-
If one was to paint the rim first and then stretch the tire over it to fit, will the paint crack on the tire? Should you or can you primer these things before attempting? Thanks, Ryan
-
I believe they were sold. The new buyer still sells them, but I can't recall the name.

Spitfire Iron Maiden build

I still have my teenage poster of this in my garage. It's funny to take in the art work here, from the 78' pinto rust barnacle to the shell casing that somehow left the barrel of the gun intact. Of course none of that I noticed as a young lad, I didn't even like Iron Maiden...just bought it for the Spitfire imagery. -
Thanks, back to your thread!

I have found the Model Air Aluminum really dry-brushes well. I used it here over NATO or Rubber Black base coat. Ta-152 by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr

Rob you might give it a wash and then tidy it up with a lighter metal color drybrush. It works great to lift detail.
-
Love it Dr. Rob I have both of the boxings as well Ernie.

For those digging into this kit, it appears the orientation on the side shutters (vents?) are wrong. Not sure if the directions have you put the piece in the wrong way or what. I was first tipped off on the error when viewing a build by Zaloga, he scratched them facing the other way around. If I had a choice between Hobby Boss research or Steve Zaloga research i'm going with the latter! Low and behold here is a shot I found on Flickr. 38.M Toldi I (k.hk. A nice little Toldi tank. I thin I buggered the side shutters though, too low. Toldi by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr Toldi by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr Ryan -

I don't like depicting them with chipped paint. -
No PE for my Trumpeter P-47 razorback cockpit

The universe is saying, just build it OOB Ernie, take its heed! -
Trumpeter have a good foundation with the Panzer IV for other vehicle mods etc. Panda have a great base for Hetzer and other 38t derivatives. A proper Trumpeter Sherman family would be well received i'm sure.
