  1. I didn't mean to be pessimistic or negative. However if Eduard can create a decent 190 in 1/48 scale (10+years old kit), or Revell one in 1/32, I don't understand why Border who makes impeccably good armour should cheap out on such a well known and popular subject.
  2. What I am finding amazing is the dealership's approach, fancy bow and welcoming message. Such a kind gesture. In Canada, you transfer the funds, get the keys and you're on your own. No class whatsoever. Good for you Rog, that's a pretty sweet ride. Congrats.👍
  3. Border Fw-190 is not what it seems to be. First of all border is unable to distinguish between A-6 and A-8, instructions even call it Messerschmitt . Just by a quick glance I can see how the flange on vertical stabilizes is riveted in, should be moving free. Fuel rack , I haven’t noticed in this video, but there should be two, so as the gun covers. Propeller blades looks like they came from Yak-9. Option for ‘narrowed/ open’ canopy is not there. Some filling/ service ports are omitted. this thing is half baked cookie regarding colours? No a biggie.
  4. Of course. As I said , that is the AK lacquer pre-shading base, there will be a coat of enamel in a lighter shade going over it,,, having said that, I have to admit that I am not entirely happy with the poopy brown either. This is my first RAF aeroplane in many years, decades, eons, so I am trying to figure things out as I go.
  5. OK, she's not dead, just switching to a new brand of paint. And this is going to be the guinea piglet ( insert the maniacal laughter ) https://arcus-hobby.store/collections/united-states-air-force yeah, my stash is pretty insane as well
  6. I am with you John, 100%. Ever since after the ModelMaster enamels disappeared I have been trying to find replacement. However, after testing pretty much everything on the market, I am turning full circle back to enamels. Playing with the Tamiya enamel brand as we speak also ordering Arcus model paint. My full stash of AK is going to a local modelling buddy, racks and all But again, I've always mixed my own paint so it's not much about the shades as it is about the brand specific chemistry, mixing ratios and ability to hand brush.
  7. In the depths of the closet of eternal despair 😂
  8. Absolutely phenomenal detailing
  9. Been waiting for some Mosquito parts, so here’s a little squirrel 🐿️ Preshading on the bottom and testing Tamiya synthetics on the top
  10. So this it the consistency of AK. Bought them Last week, one is from the RAF set and second just off the rack the “same”dark earth.
  11. stuff like such makes me wonder what treasures are still hiding in a plain sight?
