I'm glad you love it so much...lol I liked it too... in The Blue Max. Not such a big fan of yellow wings, myself. -
Correct me if I'm wrong... but didn't these kits all have shape issues up front?
-
Thank you, Frank! Still some work to go... I haven't even touched the figures, yet.

No, No! Run away while you still can! -
Got my first ever Artwox wooden deck this week. But still fighting this cold... don't think it worth a photo. Got some 1/48 MG17 barrels, too. Again... not very exciting.

Thank you, my friend!

After spending most of the week sick, I found some time to devote to the Dornier. With a bit of aluminum flashing I fabricated the part that holds the aerial cable at the top of the mast(yellow arrow). And for a long time, I held off on scribing the line around the base of the nose cone. Masked the clear parts, too. Again, with the aluminum flashing... I made the streamlined antenna at the right. I also used some copper wire to make the FuB1 blind flying aerial look a bit nicer than the kit part. Got to lay down some paint today. Some very off, off white for the national markings. That means I devoted a couple hours making the simple set of masks. I have a pilot picked out, but no real pics of his machine. I'll talk about him later. Some machines had fuselage bands and some didn't. Likewise, the Englandblitz badge. Some machines were all black, and some weren't. But it's my new habit to avoid the in-box scheme. So, I've decided to go minimalist on the scheme so I can concentrate on the all-black aspect. Call it artistic license. Thanks for looking! Gaz

What is on your bench right now ? Share a picture :)

Bill, I honestly hate covering that much plane in decals. No matter how good the decals are. I've been seriously considering making masks. But I'm sure that will lead to another kind of hell. Good luck! Gaz -
Thank you, Rob, The tonal variations in the dust coat show more in-person than they do in photo, but I do understand that I need to do a bit more. There are some dust deposits on the horizontal surfaces, but here I was afraid of blotting out too much detail. Finding dusty armor images isn't easy. From soldiers memoirs, minutes after the rains stopped, the rollbahn gave up great clouds of dust. This is an Ost Front image. But finding closeups of dusty tanks... is even harder. Maybe I don't know where to look.

Thank you, Carl. I'll be interested to see how the Takom kit goes together.

Thank you!

Nice! I like the subtle tones in the paint.

Phil, Thank you very much! I appreciate them, though they are from too far away for detail. One thing they do show, is that there were variations, most likely done at frontline workshops and not a factory produced item. Thank you! Gaz
