Flew home from a business trip to NJ on Eastern Airlines on a late flight that got in about 11 pm. Went home, went to bed. Woke up to the news that all flights stopped at midnight for good.

My brother owned a Midas franchise at one time. Same experience. Managers lying and faking receipts, employees he trusted with keys coming in to work on customers cars on the side when they came in for an estimate, pocketing cash for minor jobs, charging parts back to auto parts stores for personal items, faking (he tried to fake it, actually broke both his legs) an accident to get workers comp. Couldn’t find any sober and high end mechanics since all the good ones went to dealerships. -
Thanks for the link. I see it's off the strip. Must be why the room rate is so much lower. I've already done something like 6-8 trips out to Vegas with work and one Christmas trip to take the inlaws. Lots of stuff to do other than Vegas stuff. Valley of Fire, Red Rock, drive out to Utah to some of the many parks (Zion is breath taking) Hoover dam, Grand Canyon. List goes on and on. Flying down INTO the canyon on a helo was the experience of a lifetime! And don't forget people watching on the strip! But much better in the spring when the dry heat is not 3 digits.

So this past Saturday my 24 yo son bought this after totaling out his Malibu. 2017 with 15K on the clock. My first time sitting in a non-premium package car.

Ha! My wife said she’s in if it is in Vegas. Of course this trip is going to cost a fortune if we go.

Fingers crossed for that Phantom phantasy!!!

So no real announcement yet? Isn’t the show over as of today?

House is built on a hill, so one side has a garage entrance with the 3 car wide garage with two doors and a walk through door. Behind the garage is the basement. I have a 16’X24’ hobby room that is so full I can hardly walk through. It connects to my garage, so I crank up my AC window unit I installed by cutting a hole in the 10” poured concrete wall. I wish I had made it oversized and framed in a slot to put a vent for a paint booth. Now the upside to this is just today I had to do a brake job on my daughters car. Pulled it in the garage, closed the doors and opened up my workshop and the adjoining basement room and circulated cooled air into my garage so I could work in the low 80’s/70’s while it was 95 degrees out with 75% humidity. I have too many hobbies that take up space in my workshop. I have to store my woodworking tools on carts, band saw, table saw until I find time to rework my garage storage area. I still need to figure out how to vent out fumes from my workshop.

Keep 'em coming!! So what else does your Lancaster need? I'd call it a day and put it behind glass, and be very proud of it.

I am solving my storage dilemma "Yippee!"

Years ago they were changing out the crash carts at the hospital my wife worked at. She snagged me one. It's basically a tool box, but it has 4 turning casters instead of two fixed and two turning. Also has a "bumper" around the bottom to keep it from hitting the walls. It only has three drawers and a large open space on the bottom. Drawer height on one is perfect for the standard Tamiya paint bottles. I used utensil divider boxes for individual color spectrum's. One is tools, tape, etc. One is larger Junk. I just need to reorganize my mess now. -

Awesome build! I have one to build as the Wabash Cannonball IV. It was my Uncles ride back in the day. I need to find someone to make me decals though. -
Building the SUFA as a USAF D right now. Only putty I had to do was the wing joints, and it was very simple by taping up leaving the gap only exposed. Apply putty, wait 10 min, and peel off tape. Other area was where I installed the zacto intake. It builds out as a very nice kit. I’ve done a few other things to drag it out like drooped LEX’s on the wings and the gear in half up mode, as in take off.

Just an attorney submitting subpoenas for all employees and position moves to make discovery of age discrimination is enough to get their attention. This happened with my brother a few years back. He got laid off, but then they replaced him with a younger female friend of the new boss. He got a nice big settlement.

“How it’s Made” did a show on these cars. Really neat rides!

It’s never easy. We had to say goodbye to our old girl about 9 years ago. Now the baby we brought home a year before she went is starting to show signs of getting really old. I’m using all the meds I can for her joints and comfort, but we know her time is limited.

I built mine, about the same size Ernie mentioned too. Should have gone about 3" or 4" deeper though. Big B-24 won't fit! But it was a project that I planned and saved sheet glass from work for years. I expected about to spend $1000, cost $2000+. Glass was the shocker. I got quotes for the doors, but what they forgot to mention (nor did I think about it) was the cost to transport and install. That added another $200-$250. I had no way to transport to huge sliding doors. I did design it where it is tall enough to roll through a standard doorway so one day when either I move, or die, the family can donate it. I built mine using Red Oak from Lowe's and cabinet grade ply from them as well. I will say, it ventured me into another hobby, wood working. It's currently filled with a mix of my build models and diecast cars. Eventually I'll build more cases for the cars and get them out so I have more room for the airplanes. One thing I did do was design my shelves with a metal frame so I don't have to depend on the strength of the glass since each shelf is 42" wide by roughly 22" deep. I'm using standard 3/16" glass. Here's the bare woodwork after I stained and cleared it. The back openings were filled with Masonite board and then covered with two huge bathroom mirrors we took out during the remodel of our master bath and the kids bath upstairs. Wife thought I had lost my mind when I showed my excitement upon discovering mirrors were exact same size. She had no idea the trouble she was in for. Here's a 1/48 C-130 I taped up just to see if it would fit. It did! If you look closely, you might be able to make out the metal frames I welded up using the standard 18" shelf brackets. You can see some of my diecast cars I need to get out of there. OK, you can't see the brackets. But they are an I---------I (H) shape, to support the glass. FYI, each shelf costs me about $110 (or more now, glass keeps going up, up and up in price) for glass, brackets and the metal tubing I weld together. I made a jig out of plywood to weld up everything.

Yep, Bullitt Mustang with factory Bullitt wheels. Sexy! ‘67 Bullitt had the torque Thrust wheels. Ever since Ford reintroduced the Bullitt, they’ve been known as the Bullitt wheel. Glad to see someone that knows the real name for them! I saw an S550 Bullitt the other day. Man, that thing was sexy!!! EDIT: Love the window trims. Been thinking about getting a set for mine as well. One of my first mods was the 50th anniv. Tail lights with the chrome trim.

Testors Model Master Acrylics To Be Discontinued

Me too until I used their thinner, Tried all the internet formulas with no success. I prefer Tamiya, just no FS numbers. -
Ohh...I keep thinking about an outdoor railroad set up in G Scale. Problem is, I would get no enjoyment out of it during summer months due to extreme temps, crappy winters, etc. Not to mention there is not one area in my yard that is flat. It would require some major elevated track layouts.

Unfortunately, we only have one day available. And Jackson Hole is crazy expensive in June. Especially when there is a conference for CRNA's filling up all the rooms.
