I’ve been watching this one in anticipation for a while now. Good God it’s going to be huge with that rotor span. At first I was ready to jump on the bandwagon and get one, but the more I think about it I realize I already have two helicopter kits on the SOD and do I really need to add something this freaking huge to my built collection even if I ever got around to building it? I might have to live vicariously through others on this one. -
Very! I’ve seen some old WWII bring back guns where blood was left on them and it’s as bad as leaving them to soak in the ocean.

64 today and the same tomorrow. I went outside and did some yard work and cut down a few scrub trees on my shoreline. Might step away from the bench tomorrow and get a little more done with our short break in the weather. Going to be raining all day Saturday and traveling anyway.

Amazing. I think this year I built more than I ever have as an adult. And I got a late start after my bench was done in May. I’m right at 5 if my count is correct for the year.

That would have been my Grandmother. Worked the switchboard and pulled the cables and plugged into the appropriate jack to complete the calls.

Pretty cool. Show that phone number to a kid today and just watch the look on their face.

I’ve got a friend that has a 6’ tall metal rooster that keeps threatening to sneak over one day while we’re away and cement it into the ground out in my front yard. I told him to bring the black spray paint because the wife keeps saying she wants …..

Good luck! It felt so great to pull that eject handle back in April. Went to lunch with the old work crew before Christmas and not regretting it one bit. Current CIO is running the place into the ground morally and business wise. And it’s a state agency. Unfortunately the damage will be done before those on the outside looking in will notice. -

Test build was posted on Twitter some time back in September. https://twitter.com/morinosatoclub/status/1575714016420560901

MRP has a Have glass clear “varnish” with the pearl tone. I stocked up when Sprue got it back in stock for my F-35A & C.

I used a 1’ tall piece of 3/4” ply with a dryer vent mounted in it. Also mounted lip on the outside so I can close the window down on it and it won’t fall back into the room. When the lake winds pick up I do have to pull it out since I didn’t make the lip tall enough. It has blown out of the window on me once. (Back into the house). -
Great job Ernie! Also looking forward to next year.

I made something for my daughter for Christmas

Yea, but magic reindeer are more reliable. Hey, I kid! But only because Dad was on the C-5 design and test team.

20f right now, dropping down to 14f by 7am. My main water line is exposed for about 1 foot between my HVAC unit and the concrete wall where it enters the house. I put a heating pad in a trash bag and set it on low and put it over the water line with a couple of bricks holding it in place.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I’ve always loved small engines (well, big ones too!) and I think it’s why I got drawn into RC airplanes back in the ‘80’s. Some of my favorites were the OS Max twin cylinder 4 cycles. I had the 160 and the 300. It’s amazing what those engines cost now compared what I paid back then. The 300 looks to be no longer available, but the 160 is now over $1400.00 I think they were about $450 back then. I know I paid $650 for my 300. The 7 cylinder radial is pure sexy, but at $4000, no way in hell I could strap that onto a yard dart and enjoy flying it. I always keep my eyes open for vintage hit and miss engines, but apparently those things are made of gold and painted to look like old cast iron

There’s also USAGundam or GundamUSA in FL. One thing I’ve seen with Gundam stores is they carry Mr. Color paint. Might be a good source if your regular place is out of stock. I also found SMS lacquers out of Australia at the FL store.

Peter, watch this video. Instructions leave a lot to be desired. BTW, the Locator jig has pricing all over the place on line. Most places are asking upwards of $50 and more for them. You can get it from China for $9-$11. But the same Gundam store I bought the cutter from has them for $12. Went ahead and ordered it just now too.
