  1. Seems like that one needs a little more than the tail? From BB instructions: PBY-5 to a PBN; major changes to the nose are required, including a different turret, and references are very sketchy. I just want to go with a 5A correction. Thanks though!
  2. Check out Tena Controls or Madman Lighting. Nothing specific, but I’m sure they have a generic board you can use.
  3. It does have the forward interior. I bought the decals and pe to really make it pop.
  4. Chris, cut the “Pro-Modeler” and “Invisa-clear” and see how they react when wet. My F-16 I finished last month was a 40 year old kit and the decals worked fine. FWIW, I have the regular version of the kit but I did pick up some black cat decals and I lucked up and found brass landing gear. Now I need to get that corrected tail section.
  5. Well, bottom half has all the tools that use to clutter my work area, bulk supplies like bare metal foil, pipettes, mixing cups and cotton balls, etc.. Paint rack sits on top.
  6. Almost had a Cutlass kit, but someone beat me to the email reply in a classified ad. Maybe one day I’ll luck out and pick one up.
  7. Black base to block the light and followed up with white to reflect light better. Also made a “pedestal” for the diorama. I’ll run the lighting power wires up through this.
  8. Getting things going…
  9. If you only knew the truth. I spent my life being an unorganized slob in my workshop and garage. Started making changes about 6 or 7 years back after hanging out on the Garage Journal website. I saw how guys that organized their work areas we much more productive with projects. I started out with my garage mess and when we moved in May of 2020 I refused to set up my old cafeteria folding table and recreate the previous mess I had just cleaned up and moved out of. Took me a year to figure out my smaller work area and how I could effectively use the space with a custom built table and paint booth. I was going for built in drawers but quickly realized it would kill my leg room. So I bought the tool chest. Once set up, discipline is the key to success at the bench. A complete clean up after project, reorganizing tools, paints, etc.. A fresh new start each time I start a new kit.
  10. Just ordered today. Price went up since I added to my cart. Less than a buck, I think I can swing that.
  11. When you’re done, make sure to post it up in the Fisher builds thread. Looking forward to this one!
  12. Got all the parts and sprues organized and in my work chest.
  13. Same here. It’s on my “Must build in ‘23” list.
  14. Cool! I’ve been thinking about buying one of these and converting it to RC to play around in the cove behind my house.
  15. Let’s get the party started! Here it is, ready to go. Supervisor wants to be fed though…
  16. Paint lifting? I thought we called that “weathering” or “patina”?
  17. Yes, a very Happy and prosperous New Year to all! And here’s to many hours by all spent at the bench doing what we love!
  18. You go first Harv!
  19. Quite impressive! I just hope mine comes out (of the box one day) as nice as yours has. I fully understand about having patience at the very end. I may have rushed a build or four because of the same reason.
  20. Thanks! I added it to my Amazon cart for my next order.
  21. I’ve been watching this one in anticipation for a while now. Good God it’s going to be huge with that rotor span. At first I was ready to jump on the bandwagon and get one, but the more I think about it I realize I already have two helicopter kits on the SOD and do I really need to add something this freaking huge to my built collection even if I ever got around to building it? I might have to live vicariously through others on this one.
  22. Very! I’ve seen some old WWII bring back guns where blood was left on them and it’s as bad as leaving them to soak in the ocean.
