Yea, got it from another Gundam store out of Atl. Ga. Just a one day shipping distance. I’ll do you one better. I ordered spark plugs for my ‘66 Mustang on Saturday evening from Summit Racing. They were on my front porch Monday morning. Also from Atl.

Well, as I mentioned over in the “What’s on your bench” thread in belugawhaleman’s post that I had to have one now, it just arrived. Yea, instructions are very limited and lost in translation. YouTube to the rescue. But man, this thing is going to make life so much easier painting wheels and tires now. I’ve been sitting here cutting circles like a moron on a tricycle. I’ll get the locator soon as well.

Ordered! Thanks!! interesting though if anyone else is looking for these. Has a different part number than the one I found on HAD’s website. 32089 seems to be the correct part number.
-
No, I did not. But looking at instructions now and they mention a 1/48 part number for helmet decals. I’ll look into that. Thanks! EDIT: Well, I found them on HAD’s website. 321002 is the number. Got to figure out where I can order them now. Hard to search on the phone.

Just got these out of the mailbox earlier to go with the F-14 Jerry hooked me up with. The correct movie decals!

Y’all still good on Dec 1 GB start, or wait till Jan 1?

Now with Christmas almost here I’m realizing Ernie made a good call on the delay. I cannot believe how busy we have been getting ready for family to show up for visits and getting all the gift decisions, buying and wrapping done. I’ve had very little time at the bench working on old projects without the group build going yet. -
I made something for my daughter for Christmas

Sorry, my daughters are married off already. And I don’t think my boys would go along with it either. But if you were, I wouldn’t have to worry about the stash going in the dumpster after I’m looking up at roots. -

Almost forgot that I have that 1/48 B-58 kit, but in a smaller cardboard box due to shipping size of the original. I really need to find that sucker. SR-71 really grabs my attention. If it’s on my affordable scale I’ll have to do it. -
I buy a gallon of lacquer thinner at Lowes or Home Depot.

Shhh!!! Don’t let her ever hear you say that. It will go to her head. She already knows it. And so do I, as I sit here at my bench, retired. While she’s at work right now. -

Oh, almost forgot…. She came home to visit during the summer and went rummaging through our bill drawer where I kept this rock. “Dad? Are you losing your mind? You have this random rock in the drawer with the bills.” Yea honey, it’s just a random rock. Now leave my damned rock alone! -

Ok, just so everyone doesn’t think I’m the Scrooge Ernie makes me out to be… I also made this for her. She got married last year in an outdoor wedding. The next morning after the wedding I went back by the venue to pick up something we left the night before. The place was completely surrounded by river rocks. I got a wild idea at that moment and picked out a nice big one. I pulled out some wedding photos and airbrushed her background for the wedding on the rock. I’m going to put all the info on the back. Date, location, etc. I’m the good looking guy on the left. Other guy is the intruder, and the wife. Daughter should be obvious since she’s the one in the “one and done” dress. Of course it rained on the day of her outdoor wedding, and we got the nuptials in between showers. But you cannot see the mountains in the background. Maybe the rock will give her the “Mandela effect” and she’ll remember the mountains one day. December wedding, so that’s why there are Christmas trees behind us. -

Ok, the DSPIAE circle cutter is now something I can’t live without. Never seen this before. You just cost me $60. I’ll thank you later after I use it for the first time. -

This is why the back end of my lowered 2015 Mustang always stuck out in the parking lot. Those parking lot stops were always about 2” too tall. Even stock ride height would hit them. Kills me that Ford would build something that low without a warning sensor or front camera to save the front end.

I made something for my daughter for Christmas
ScottsGT replied to ScottsGT's topic in General Discussion
I’m going to video her opening it. If it’s a good one I’ll post it to YouTube and link it here. -
Every year for the past 10 years or so my youngest daughter has presented me with a Christmas gag gift. One year, a gold fish. Last year a cheap add on bidet. The list goes on… Earlier this year I was installing insulation panels in my garage door. One bottom panel wouldn’t go in place so I stuck my fingers down into the framework and pulled out a petrified Toad. Instantly had a brilliant idea. You see, my gag gift daughter is deadly afraid of frogs and toads. Even at 23 yo. So today I made her a Christmas ornament for her tree. Petrified toad After crafting out a cute little Santa hat, carved a styrofoam ball and applied some fake snow. closed up

I just bought a Revell tomcat and the correct movie decals to build right after I’m done with the group build. But I think you would have to build the Zero since it’s the plane that got wet! LOL! FWIW, it was pointed out to me over on ARC that these F-14’s had all over gull gray on the top and white bottoms. No white control surfaces on the top.

Update on finding wife’s stash…. We we’re packing up to leave Colorado Springs yesterday morning and I asked her were she put her winnings. “It’s in my purse.” Wheres your cash stash you brought? “It’s in my purse with it.” Are you sure?? “YES DAMNIT, LETS JUST GO!” Waving it under her nose…Then what is this? “You took that from me!” Nope, fell out of your pocket while stretching on the floor the other day. Cannot believe you never noticed it gone. “Just gimme that back!” As she snatched it out of my hand….

Same here. Was a very fun build. Also bought a second to build a Thunderbird.

This is why I hate tiny models. Or how do I do this?
ScottsGT replied to ScottsGT's topic in Hints & Tips
Well I tried the capillary method. So little detail it got into the hub. Started punching out masks for the outside of the wheel. Inside won’t work so I’ll just dab on some white in the center
