Hey all Well I went and done it! I think your going to like it. Here it is. It's a Rogers 3 X 3 X 3 drop nose lowboy trailer 70 to 90 ton capacity! I think this will be big enough to haul the Cat 390FL and the D11T! front isometric view. rear isometric view. side view, she sure is lloooonnnggg!!! It has a 3 axle jeep and a 3 axle stinger. top view. It's only in the preliminary stages right know, but I'm working on it. Well that's it for now be back with more updates soon. Ron G

Hey all I've been working on the D8H Cad model some more. I have the D352 engine just about done, still have a few large items to do plus all the plumbing. I have the blade and the blade arms almost complete, still need to do the blade tilt cylinder and the plumbing. Hey Harv Good luck on the surgery. I just had my cataract surgery on my eyes about two months ago. My optomoligest is the only one in Michigan that does the lazer surgery and he does lense replacement with corrected lense implants. I have worn glasses since I was around 11 years old, I will be 70 years old October 31st of this year. Well I had the surgery with the best lense implants and I don't need to wear glasses anymore, really weird, I only need some readers when I'm doing my models. The surgery was a piece of cake. So don't worry about it. Ron G

Hey guys I found this model on the internet. It's a Cat D11!...BiiiG... It's a pretty good model, just needed some tweaking here and there. I had to replace the crappie simple tracks that it had. So I took my D8H tracks and up sized them to fit, now it looks proper. It actually has the engine modeled up in it. But it's just a sheet body not a real solid model, so I'm not sure if I can print it, we'll see. So here are some pictures for you to look at. she is definitely a BIG MOTHER! But it does fit on the 4 axle drop nose lowboy trailer, barely. side view of the D11. view from the rear. this view shows the D11 next to the D8H, big difference. Hey guys Here are some pictures of the Cat D8H I'm doing on Unigraphics NX11. I have access to UG while my wife is working at home for FCA (Chrysler). So I've been working on the computer instead of my work bench and I'm trying to get everything done before she has to go back to work at the Tech Center. Hey all Here is a picture of the Pete 359, 3 axle trailer and 336 excavator. Here is a picture of the Pete 359, 4 axle trailer and a ALL NEW! Cat 390FL on it... my God this thing is HUGE! It doesn't even fit on the 4 axle trailer even with the outriggers out! Guess I have to design a bigger trailer. Here are some pictures of the Cat 390FL. this view shows it in the bucket on the ground position. I got this 3D model off of the internet from GrabCad. (Free download) It needs a lot of work to finish it up, it's missing a lot of stuff. this view shows it in the load position, but to actually ship this on my 4 axle trailer you would have to remove the stick and bucket. In this configuration it's 20' 6" from the ground to the highest point of the boom arm and that's a little to tall. You can really see the differences between the two. The 390 is the largest mass excavator that Caterpillar makes and the 336 is a middle sized large excavator. Hey Jeff I got my 1/24 scale RC Caterpillar 336 from Diecast Masters today. It's pretty nicely detailed and it works real well, but it is not 1/24 scale!!!! It is closer to 1/20.5 scale, based off of the real 336's dimensions and what it scales up to. Here are some pictures of it. pretty niice looking and detailed well. more of a side view. this view shows it next to a drafting scale. Center to center of the idle wheel and the drive sprocket is supposed to be 13' 6" and it scales out to 16' 6" OOPPS!!!! Maybe I can say its a Cat 390 (thats the biggest one they make). It scales width wise to 12' 3" and it's supposed to be 8' 3", well it is what it is. Ron G

Hey Jeff No they aren't, they fit real tight on the Hayes 5 spoke rims because they are 24.5" diameter, which are what the Italeri 1/24 wheels are in 1/25 scale, not 22.5" diameter. I used the 22.5" dia. floats on the 24.5" 5 spoke rims because they look so cool on the gravel train and my AMT Peterbilt dump truck..oh! oh! I spilled the beans, yes it's another build I'm doing and it will have the dump from the AMT Autocar dump truck kit on it. Yes I have, but most of Moluminum tires are out of stock. And Auslowe is a pain in the rear to get in any reasonable amount of time. I did order the photo etch for the Cat D8H bulldozer (2 sets) from Moluminum. Ron G

Hey Jeff The tires are really great! The wheels I had to modify by adding a 1/16" thick section I cut from an old set of Italeri truck rims and then added to the Scenes Unlimited front rim to make it into a float rim. The float tires actually come with a 10 hole Alco set of rims, lug nuts and center cap of your choice. His wheels/tires are really nice stuff, I really wish he had more for the semi tires, different brands, different tread designs, etc., but they still are nice. Ron G

Hey all I have the NTC-370 Cummins engine mostly done. I added most of the oil, fuel, air and water lines to it. this view shows the oil lines to and from the turbos added. this view shows the main fuel filter made from scratch and the two auxiliary fuel filters from the parts bin added. I added a oil pump and line to the block. I also added the air and fuel lines and the fuel fittings at the rear of the block. You can see the cooling lines from the water inlet housing to the air compressor. this view shows the cooling lines from the water inlet housing to the air compressor. this view shows the (black) hose added to the water inlet housing to the water pump.
