  1. What Martin said! Carl
  2. That's a good way to go about making the interior details. I've still got a few 1/35 Tigers in the stash but I could be interested in it when you're done. I don't have one with an interior yet.
  3. Great work Rob. Such a sleek looking plane.
  4. Can't have too many Corsairs.
  5. It really is. I'm trying to compile a list so I know what I have rather that just buying it when I think I'm out.
  6. Peter, it definitely was a nice find. I found most of the colours I need for the Cavalier Mustang.
  7. My bench runneth over. The paints were getting out of hand, with much of them on my bench rather than in the racks. The paint racks that are around my bench can hold around 400 paint jars. They're close to full. When I went looking for something in the stash, I found the overstock. It's a wine crate that I use to hold extra paint in. I need to go through this more often after sorting through it. Mr Color on the left, Tamiya in the middle and AK on the right. Yup, 20 bottles of black at the back: gloss, semi-gloss, rubber and NATO black. Yet I can never find one when I need it. A bunch of Alcad too. As a result, I'm currently reorganizing the paint racks and filling in any gaps with the overstock. At least I have lots of thinner and cleaner.
  8. That's great info Ron. I have the do the same mod on my build when the time comes so it's great to know how to do it. AFV Modeler just released a resin flange but it's already sold out. Go figure.
  9. That looks really good there Ernie. Huge improvements over the Helldiver.
  10. Peter, it's the Halberd Cavalier Turbo Mustang conversion. I'll start a WIP shortly.
  11. My bench wasn't crowded enough. I found a couple square inches of free space when I moved some paint bottles so I've started something new...
  12. I got all the belts finished. They just need painting and then installation on the seats. So I started on the seats themselves. First up was a coat of primer. I used Mr Aqueous Surfacer in black for that. Let's me skip painting the seats black after. The original seats are on the left. Then I painted the cushions and escape pack. Once that's dry, I'll finish off the detail painting and start installing the belts.
  13. Really nice work there Peter. Glad to hear everything is going along as it should.
  14. Nice to hear there's a Tempest that'll have a working Sabre engine in it. And a nice start to your build.
  15. This should be a good one to follow along with. Not many of these get built it seems. I think I've got this one in the stash. One of the Ki-45 kits anyways.
  16. Sprue Brothers has the Infinity Vampire kit on sale again so I grabbed it this time. Hopefully will be here in a week or so. Maybe two.
  17. This is a great book about the history of a particular airframe. There's also some good info on Corsairs in FAA service.
  18. That's the one. Thanks Dennis!
  19. Visually the biggest changes are the clipped wing tips. There's two different versions of them. I'll find the drawings of them and post those shortly. Another change was the FAA had three small vents installed on the fuselage. They found that CO would accumulate in the rear fuselage so these were installed to vent it. There's one on either side of the fuselage and a third underneath. The FAA also fitted a Sutton harness to the plane in place of the US belts. The Tamiya Corsair would probably be the best starting point. They had in fact planned an FAA release as some point. The dimples for the fuselage vents are moulded into the fuselage sides but the vents themselves aren't included. The Sutton harness is on the PE fret if you don't mind PE. The only thing not in the box is the clipped wing tips but it's an easy mod. Eaglecals makes several decal sheets for FAA Corsairs and Fundekals offered one at some point too.
  20. Pete, that new cockpit is a huge improvement over the kit one. I've been wondering about what the Model Monkey stuff is like so thanks for sharing. Is the belly section from them as well or something that you made?
  21. Ron, I got them from BNA World. https://www.bnamodelworld.com/military-vehicles-tanks-for-1:16-scale-montex-mon-k16004 Nice job on the bulkhead, I don't most folks will know it has the rong number of holes. AFV Modeler is coming out with some stuff for the kit too.
  22. My vote is for RCAF Tiger Meet. If you need the decals I have them.
