  1. I'm not looking forward to spraying the yellow on the helmets I have.
  2. This will.be great to watch. I've got one of their MH-60 kits in the stash.
  3. Got a side door they drop stuff off instead?
  4. I haven't seen it listed yet. I'm checking every day for what comes up at least once in the morning and again in the late afternoon.
  5. Finally on her legs. I gave the fuselage a light panel wash using Mig Storm Grey panel line wash. It's subtle but is there.
  6. Thanks Martin! The original kit missiles were pretty plain, especially compared to the Eduard ones which is why I swiped replacements from the F-4EJ kit.
  7. Rob, the engine looks great. Nice job on masking the cylinder heads.
  8. Me too! Currently there is the Doyusha Stratos in 1/12. I've got one and it's very much a product of the '70s but is reasonably decent. Italeri have announced a new 1/12 kit for sometime this year. How much an improvement it will be over the Doyusha one we will have to wait and see.
  9. Just a quick update on the Wheels and Wings kits. They've started listing them on their website. Prices on more recent plastic kits is okay but older kits and resin ones are looking to be good deals. Just missed out on an Iconicair Spiteful that sold for $25 USD but did manage to grab the Eduard re-box of the Hasegawa P-40N for $100 USD. Still waiting on what the Fisher ones will cost.
  10. First I need to see what price the shop is willing to sell them for. If it's out of my budget, this is all moot. The thread Scott mentioned is worth the read. Not only does Paul reply but so does Alistair who runs Aerocraft and has a lot of experience in resin casting as well. Both point out the inherent shortcomings and hurdles that would need to be solved. Then of course there's the issue of taking someone else's work and basically ripping it off unless some agreement is arranged beforehand. Lastly, scanning and moulding is way above my knowledge base.
  11. More progress on the Tomcat. I finished the seam work and touched up the paint. I then finished painting the antiglare panel around the cockpit and the tips of the vertical tails base I then added the Pheonix pallets. Landing gear was next. Finally I did the detail painting and decal work on the missiles. I used Aim-7s and AIM-9s from a Tamiya F-4 kit. The Aim-54A Pheonix missiles are by Eduard.
  12. Baby Boot looks awesome. Can't wait to see what you can do with big brother.
  13. Looks good there Kevin. I need to do a Mossie with invasion stripes one day.
  14. Not me either.
  15. Fun in the mountains!
  16. If that is anything like their armour kits, it's going to be a great model.
  17. Here's what I have. I also have an F-8C that's started.
  18. I would be up for that.
  19. Same here. 3 full kits in the stash and a pair of conversions.
  20. According to their Facebook page, they've been open for 37 years. They used to be in a different location and moved about a decade ago to their current spot. That's where I found them and have been going since.
  21. I used Tamiya lacquer gloss black with a brush and put it on wet. Out of the bottle, it was thing enough and just flowed into the details.
  22. Thankfully all I needed was snip off a moulded on wire/cable/hose on the one seat and the RIO ended up fitting. The pilot seat is on the left and you can see where I cut off the offending bit on the right seat. Speaking of the crew, I did some paintwork on them. Mostly just their visors and the backs of their necks.
  23. Phil, that's a great looking cockpit and nose gun bay.
