  1. My neighbour came over today and gave me a hand. He got the clip undone so that we could pull the rad fan out. Then it was the power steering pump and finally the alternator itself. New vs. old Everything back together. A quick test drive and no more dash lights and noises from.under the hood.
  2. I decided to try an experiment in painting the exhausts. Instead of my usual approach and airbrushing them with Alclad or Xtreme Metal, I dry brushed them with Ammo Drybrush paint. It seems to have worked out okay. Next time I might try it over a black base coat.
  3. Next up was the tail wheel. Again, a fair bit of internal details that much of which won't be seen. Installed into the separate tail. What you'll see when done. It's almost tempting to do another one with the panels opened up for a contrasting appearance.
  4. I finally spent some time at the bench working on the FW. Continuing with the wings, I used the alternate lower panels as <|| doesn't have outer wing guns. Once dry, I filled the seam lines around the panels. I then glued the upper wings in place on the inner structure. One nice thing compared to their 109 kit is that the wing is in fewer parts.
  5. Rob, the Revell kit doesn't look that bad. I haven't tried building it yet so that'll be the real test. I also have some Eduard resin sets for it.
  6. The wing undersides really look like linen.
  7. Nice kit there Paul. If it's Modelkasten tracks then definitely the Fruil ones will be easier to assemble. I have some Modelkasten tracks for the Sherman and each link is 10-11 parts depending on the type. Carl
  8. It gets worse. To reach the alternator, I have to pull the rad shroud, loosen and move the rad support and pull the overflow tank. Then I can get to the rad fan which has to come out. Finally, the power steering pump has to be unbolted. At that point, I can get to the alternator. So I'm stuck on removing the rad fan. I can't get this clip undone. It's for a wire that runs on the bottom of the rad fan housing. The pic is from below looking up. Oh and for some reason, there's absolutely no mention of this wire in any of the guides I've read. Anyone got an extra set of hands?
  9. I picked up some supplies recently. Bits for the Dspiae rotary tool. Tape dispenser On the model side of things, a couple kits for Christmas. Pacific Rim is most likely our youngest's favourite movie so when Max Factory announce they were going re-pop these kits, I put in a pre-order. Finally, one for me. Turns out I got the limited edition kit that's numbered so now I might have to find a regular one.
  10. Those Bandai Star Wars kits are fantastic. I've done a few, including the PG Millennium Falcon and the Tie Advanced. Carl
  11. It's like you can design these things in CAD faster than I can glue a couple parts together. Simply amazing. Carl
  12. Do they make one for a 2025 Sienna? Asking for a friend.
  13. Wow, the Whirlwind is barely into the display cabinet and you're onto the next masterpiece. Carl
  14. The tracks do look good there Paul. So worth the effort. It's a small tank, that's for sure. Carl
  15. Since you asked so nicely and I happen to have a Revell kit in the stash, I took it out to compare them. Well, at least the engines anyways.
  16. My '02 Civic had a rake to it. It was unintentional at first. Lowering springs hadn't come out yet for the EP3 Civic at the time Soni used ones for a DC5 Integra. They share the same chassis but obviously had enough differences for me to end up with a rake. Later when I went to full coil overs, I had it set up that way since I liked the look.
  17. Wow, absolutely stunning.
  18. Thanks @Martinnfb! Some great photos. That's a lot of exhaust staining I'm going to have to deal with. I think the second pic is <||. Or looks that way to me.
  19. There's an option to have the rear tail plane pael for the tail wheel open and all the internal details are provided. Same with the radio hatch. And of course the gun bays and engine panels.
