  1. Thanks Rob! I'm really surprised at how quickly it did go together. Thanks Phil! Just a bit of weathering and then she'll be done.
  2. Quick? Yes. Easy? Not as much as I would have hoped but better than my first try. Which ended up in a parts bin at the LHS Thanks Kev!
  3. Some more progress from last night. I got the rest of the wheels cleaned up and ready for paintwork I've already assembled one each of the sprocket and idler wheels. The inner wheels are done too. Our cat decided to check in on the newest feline in the house. I wonder if she approves.
  4. Nice progress there Bill. I think there may be an issue with the airfoil profile of the wing though. Did the 88 have a Davis wing or a laminar flow one? Carl
  5. Jeff and Phil, thanks for sharing. They're proving to be very handy already. Carl
  6. I'll have to try that as I have a couple bug projects that are white.
  7. They still do. For the moment anyways. No milkman unfortunately, just guys selling duct cleaning services. Who get confused when I say we have rad heating.
  8. Nice to try something different. Carl
  9. Can't wait to see more. This is turning out amazingly. Carl
  10. Gotcha, thanks for the clarification. That makes it easier.
  11. Thanks for the heads up. I checked some photos of the actual tank and there's definitely zimmerit. It's the square pattern one but I haven't seen Meng's decal zimmerit for this kit. Might have to make it from scratch. Which I hope is easier than the last time I tried doing zimmerit. As for the camo scheme, does that mean the kit version is wrong? Should it just be in a dark yellow only? Can't really say either. Canada Post is getting by on delivering packages these days as letter mail had been on the decline. I know they wanted to get rid of door to door service a few years ago but that sort of got back burnered.
  12. Really nice looking Tiger there Mike. Can't wait to see it with some tracks on. Carl
  13. I got mine for about the same from Aurora models in China as well. Same to Canada. My LHS just can't compete on anything coming out of China. Kits from Japan and Europe are closer in price, especially after you factor in shipping.
  14. Thanks Rob! I wasn't sure about the G1 initially but once I confirmed that they were around in Normandy, that made it an easy choice. This is my first Meng kit so it'll be interesting to see how it goes together. Ok, first Meng kit beside their cute Lanc
  15. Thanks! This kit isn't that bad. There's only two sprue attachment points per wheel and the mould seam is fairly faint too. Thanks Kev! It really is impressive the size difference. Here's one with it in front of a Sherman which I need to finish.
  16. My dad and sister both have thr CX-5 in Soul Red. They're certainly nice.
  17. The Fruil tracks are probably the easiest option Ernie. Just stick a wire through them and cut it to length. No glue needed. Or there's this option:. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F302949609913 Fully assembled metal tracks. I haven't tried them yet but I am tempted.
  18. In that case, I'm jealous. Mine came with a set of British airborne troops, none of whom are designed to fit the Jeep. I had a hard time finding suitable figures.
  19. I used Fruil metal tracks on one, ModelKasten on another and AFV Club's plastic tracks on a couple more. They all have pros and cons. Modelkasten are the hardest to put together as each link is 8 parts (9 if you're using the duck bills). Be ready for a padded room by the time you're done.
  20. Wheels are painted and attached. Followed by the remaining visors. And the roof hatch. I used some decals from Bison for the markings. They're supposed to be a 1st Armoured division (?, will have to double check). Next up will be a clear coat and some weathering and she'll be done.
  21. I got the lower hull assembly started. It comes flat pack and there's the option for working suspension. I'm skipping that bit and keeping it simple. The underside is fully detailed as well. Here's a size comparison with my Dingo. Last bit for tonight, I've started on the cleanup of the road wheels.
  22. Well, I did have to make a target for all those Fireflies I've built.
  23. Ohh, I've got the SAS Jeep too. The biggest letdown is the lack of a crew.
