JohnB
Painting done! Now it's time to add the extensive exhaust stains. (I had to put the walkway and fuel marking on before doing any staining. On the real a/c, they covered those in places.)

Peterpools
John NMF  looks perfect. I’m sure the exhaust staining covered all the markings and everything in it’s path. Looking mighty good. Keep ‘em comin Peter l

Looking mighty good. Keep ‘em comin Peter l  These particular a/c all had heavy exhaust staining which should look good on the model. I left the cowlings off so I could do that.
Bomber_County
Looks good John, do you black base first? I’ve started using the AK Extreme and they suggest a black base…….

Works for me.
Peterpools
Hi John Awesome NMF and applied over a smooth gray primer, the aluminum finish has a very realistic metallic sheen. Going to have to give your method a try. Keep 'em comin Peter

I tried the black at one time and really didn't see any difference between it and the gray.

Peterpools
John Gloss Black for the base seems to yield a deeper, metallic shine and the gloss gray yields a bit more of an oxidized finish. I'm leaning towards the gloss gray for a more operational look. Keep 'em comin Peter
