Painting done! Now it's time to add the extensive exhaust stains. (I had to put the walkway and fuel marking on before doing any staining. On the real a/c, they covered those in places.):)

NMF  looks perfect. I’m sure the exhaust staining covered all the markings and everything in it’s path. Looking mighty good.

These particular a/c all had heavy exhaust staining which should look good on the model. I left the cowlings off so I could do that. :)

Looks good John, do you black base first? I’ve started using the AK Extreme and they suggest a black base…….

I assume you are referring to the NMF. No, I just lay on a primer of Alclad Gray Primer and Microfiller. Works for me.:)

Hi John

Awesome NMF and applied over a smooth gray primer, the aluminum finish has a very realistic metallic sheen. Going to have to give your method a try.

Thanks Peter. I tried the black at one time and really didn't see any difference between it and the gray. :)

Thanks Mark. I'm just about finished with the model and should have some photos posted soon. :)

Gloss Black for the base seems to yield a deeper, metallic shine and the gloss gray yields a bit more of an oxidized finish. I'm leaning towards the gloss gray for a more operational look.
