Peterpools
Kai The Office is looking so good and it's just a shame so much of the details are hidden and won't be seen. But what is visible - simply awesome. Keep 'em comin Peter
Kaireckstadt
You are right Peter: You need a pocket-lamp to see the hidden details. I’m working on the front landing gear at the moment. Lots of seams to be removed on every part. I’m again disappointed from Italeri: After rework: Taxi-light prepared for LED: LED test-fitted: Next step is to paint all parts and add the necessary wiring to make it look more realistic and to hide the cable to the LED in the taxi-light.

Peterpools
Kai I marvel at how you handle the electronics. I'm happy to just the batteries in the correct way Yup, Italeri strikes again. Seems that their mold makers went to the same school as Airfic and Revell. Keep 'em comin Peter
DocRob
Nice refining of the parts, Kai. Italeri should be forced to let their engineers study model design with the known mayors. My dislike of the company grows steadily and often I see one of their boxings and think, what a nice..., but wait, no way, it's Italeri. Your masochism shows, that you can produce fabulous results with their kits. Cheers Rob

Kaireckstadt
Thank you all for your feedback. Unfortunately the kit offers some of the same problems I had with the Mirage III kit. When I have finished it I will make a pause building Italeri kits. In the meanwhile my Viggen arrived and I’m really struggling with myself not to start it immediately… 6 1
Peterpools
Kai No way to fight off the temptation and erg to put aside the Tornado and tackle the Viggen. I guess you know my vote: she will be underway as soon as this weekend. Keep 'em comin Peter

I may do mine wheels up....lol. It saves a lot of time. And I am tempted by the MW-1 3
Bomber_County
Kai, stunning work on the Tornado, guy who lived two doors up from me had to bang out during the first Iraq conflict and my brother in law worked on them at Leuchars for years. I hear good and bad things about Italeri………

Keep 'em comin Peter I will finish the Tonka because I plan to exhibit it together with the Lancaster Dambuster on the EME (Euro Model Expo) in Germany end of march. But you can be sure that the Viggen is the next on my bench. On 2/4/2022 at 10:48 PM, GazzaS said: Sorry to hear that the Tornado is being troublesome. ...especially since I will build one. Also when you build it with retracted flaps and slats. Great video of the MW-1! Hope that Italeri will add it to the release of the IDS version. 3

I worked in the depot-maintenance of the Tornado when I was a member of the GAF in the late 80 ties. Was one of the most interesting jobs I ever had in my life. You should build a model of the Tornado and place it in front of your painting! Will look great I suppose.

Kaireckstadt
I have added cards and checklists to the leg-pockets of the crew and finished the painting and weathering of the bar in the cockpit separating the pilot and the WSO and the nose landing gear bay. Weathering was done with oil-colors on a future base. Next step will be the detailing of the nose-wheel components and adding various cabling. 9

Kaireckstadt
Yesterday I completed the cabling of the front-undercarriage. This included the implementation of the cables for the taxi-light. Fortunately I found a cable on the real part which I used to guide the cables. This is how it looks like now: I also tested the light and it works: Finally I made a hole for guiding the cables out of the wheel bay: Next will be to paint the undercarriage and then assemble the complete bay. 8

Kaireckstadt
Today I‘ve finished the detail-painting of the front landing gear. The oleos were done with Bare Metal Foil: Next to follow is the weathering and in the end the glass-part will be added to the taxi-light. 5
