ATM- totally understand.  This little s&@$ is digging holes in the backyard and then he’s surprised why he’s not allowed into the house.

Sounds like Jimmy. We had a backyard full of huge ferns. Well, they're mostly gone now. Trampled or buried under our behemoth. His new trick is if he hears someone we know coming up the laneway, he jumps the back fence and goes to greet them. The fence is 5ft tall...

At least he's stopped trying to make friends with skunks.

Sorry to hear about your loss Mark. It's never easy to say goodbye. They become such a big part of our family.

Really sad news, it always is as pets do become members of the family so losing one not matter what their age is a hard blow.

We lost our two cats and we could not bear to take on another, we adopted both of them when we lived in Australian from pet homes and fetched them back to the UK where they had great and long lives, one 15 and the other 18 years old.

Sad day yesterday as we had to say goodbye to Salty, the younger of our two Jack Russells. He was only 10 but had been struggling a bit recently and CT on Friday showed bladder cancer, so no other option unfortunately. He had a good last day - steak breakfast, a slow trundle round one of his favourite walks then a nice lie in the sunshine on the patio. I know it's for his benefit but it's still the bit of pet owning that I dread.

Here he is catching a few rays about an hour before his final trip to the vets.
