BlrwestSiR Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Looks great. I love these mismatched paint jobs. I did my second Corsair in the RNZAF half and half patch job. 2
Landlubber Mike Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Very nice - and typical fast - work John. That paint scheme looks really cool! Can I ask what paint you used to paint the propeller? I'm not sure if it's the lighting or anything, but I like the effect you got on it. Thanks! 2

I used a mix of Mr. Color flat black and flat white. Black with a little white mixed in to give a sort of faded black look. I call it "scale black". Works with enamels also. (Pactra used to market Scale Black years ago.) 1 1

JohnB Posted February 16, 2023 Author Posted February 16, 2023 Making some good progress on the F4U. Still have a lot of detailing and weathering to do but it's coming right along! 3 1
Peterpools Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 John Nice work on the deteriorated and ripped fabric. Love the way the fabric droops into the ripped, rotted openings. She surely is looking mighty neglected. 1

I tried hard not to overdo it and still keep it looking "real" as shown in the accompanying photo of the real a/c. I hope to have it finished later today or maybe tomorrow. 2
