JohnB Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 The more I look at this photo it looks like the pilot has some sort of problem. Obviously it was taken when the 354th FG was just starting ops as the a/c noses haven't been painted white yet. I'm just wondering, was there something "wrong"? Was he sick? Did he crap his pants? LOL What's your take on this guys? 3
biggtim Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 Maybe they're picking the seat cushion out of his arsehole from puckering too hard! 1 3
PanzerWomble Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 Parachute harness to tight over his thighs ? 3
ScottsGT Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 Looking at his feet, maybe he put his boots on the wrong feet? 1 1

Martinnfb Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 Despite all of the silliness, what a beautiful aeroplane. 2
Vandy1 VX-4 Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 Behind the two guys standing to the right of the pilot, does that look like oil stains on the Cowles? Or is that fresh paint? 3
Andy the Sheep Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 I thought he was searching in his pocket for a dime to tip the parking guy... ...I'll get my coat... 2 1
Peterpools Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 I think Scott is right .. his boots don't look right.
Vandy1 VX-4 Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 I think what we are forgetting here is. The main reason he needs help walking is he just had an eight-hour flight. Not much room to stretch out. 2 1

Just sitting and driving two hours I look like that getting out of my wife’s Honda Pilot. 2
Peterpools Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Seems to be the right answer - we're reading way too much into what is wrong instead of why. Eight hours in the cockpit surely could do it. 1
JohnB Posted January 16, 2024 Author Posted January 16, 2024 Y'all are probably correct as I too figure he's just trying to stretch, etc. Stiff and sore. 🤪 1
ScottsGT Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Wait…..serious question. Could the P-51 carry 8 hours worth of fuel? 1 1
Peterpools Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Most likely not but just sitting in one spot for hours in a fighter and you can cramp up.
Vandy1 VX-4 Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 I think their longest missions were eight hours With drop takes that was the Berlin and back raids
JohnB Posted January 17, 2024 Author Posted January 17, 2024 I had this Tamiya 1/48 P-51B partially built so I decided to resume working on it and finish it as the one in the photo. I used a Aires cockpit set for the interior. Markings all came from my decal stash. I hope y'all like it! 4

Peterpools Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 Your "B" looks awesome and the Twin of the Mustang in the photograph. Some mighty fine work as always.🏆 3
