BlrwestSiR Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 The chassis looks great. I never think to weather a car model. 2
FullArmor Posted July 10, 2024 Author Posted July 10, 2024 Interior finished. Yes i know...not my best work😬...we tried all kinds of tricks to simulate fabric surface. Setled to this worn leather look. Hopefully exterior shell will cover this up 🙄 7
Peterpools Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 The seats and interior look mighty convincing with years and many miles of wear and use. 3 1
DocRob Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 I like the worn leather finish as well, but don´t know if there ever were Topolinos with leather interior. Who cares, if it looks good, which it does. I once simulated worn leather with applied cigarette paper as a base layer with oil colors on top. I guess, the method would also work for fabrics. Cheers Rob 5 1
BlrwestSiR Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 The leather looks very good to me as does the rest of the interior. 4 1
FullArmor Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 I used AK16011 Brown Black - acrylic Ink to create worn leather look. I am glad that you all liked this result.🙂 5
Bomber_County Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Looking very good indeed, these 500’s were very prone to rust in the UK, I replaced the whole wing for one of my friends and patched the other wing with plod (P38) he was a cheap stake …….. 4

Not quite as bad as the Alfas but none of the 70s/80s Italian cars liked our UK climate much. A friend of mine inherited his mum's Alfasud as his first car and the underbody was so shot you could just about see the road between your feet! 1 3

I can't remember last time I painted something on the sprue. I made new painting stand. Ugly but functional👍 6

FullArmor Posted July 14, 2024 Author Posted July 14, 2024 Main color on! Car model builders would use wet sanding to bring more shine to color. I will leave it on semi matt finish. It would like it to be "daily driver" not showpiece. 5
FullArmor Posted July 16, 2024 Author Posted July 16, 2024 The most annoying error of this kit is missing hinges on engine hood. Also kits hinges do not work properly. Hood opening function must have been afterthought. I have seen few youtube videos where same complaint emerges. 5
belugawhaleman Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 Nice work! I've been eyeing Italeri's 1/12 kit of this subject. Cool iconic, historic, little vehicle. A bit pricy, the Italeri offering, and I'm not really experienced in gloss auto finishes, I still would like to give the kit a try. Like what I'm seeing! Thanks; Paul 2
FullArmor Posted July 16, 2024 Author Posted July 16, 2024 Yes that 1/12 kit is pricy. This 1/24 kit is quite fast to build. But i have seen some super detailed examples on youtube. For me the interior was definitely hardest to paint. Paul thanks for commenting all my builds🙂 5
Peterpools Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 Nice paint work representing 'your daily driver' and tackling those hinges will be a big improvement. 3 1
Martinnfb Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 Catching up with this beauty. Nice work so far, if I can make a note. The steering wheel arms in neutral position should aim down. Like this 5 1

FullArmor Posted July 17, 2024 Author Posted July 17, 2024 Must have got it wrong because of this reference picture😃 5
Peterpools Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 Who knows how the Fiat was parked when they took the photo. Like most, after I park, I almost never straighten out the wheels, just leave it as it is and thusly the photos never show the actual 'showroom' position. 3

Tried to remove wheel but it was superglued in place. I will use your advice and rotate wheels to the other side to match the steering wheel. 👍🙂 2
Martinnfb Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 That's actually a brilliant idea, it will also look more realistic. 1
