Interior finished. Yes i know...not my best work😬...we tried all kinds of tricks to simulate fabric surface. Setled to this worn leather look. Hopefully exterior shell will cover this up 🙄

I like the worn leather finish as well, but don´t know if there ever were Topolinos with leather interior. Who cares, if it looks good, which it does. I once simulated worn leather with applied cigarette paper as a base layer with oil colors on top. I guess, the method would also work for fabrics.

Cheers Rob

Looking very good indeed, these 500’s were very prone to rust in the UK, I replaced the whole wing for one of my friends and patched the other wing with plod (P38) he was a cheap stake ……..

Not quite as bad as the Alfas but none of the 70s/80s Italian cars liked our UK climate much. A friend of mine inherited his mum's Alfasud as his first car and the underbody was so shot you could just about see the road between your feet!

I remove everything, clean it, fix seams etc, then attach it to a cocktail stick, or a bamboo skewer for painting. I can't remember last time I painted something on the sprue.

I made new painting stand. Ugly but functional👍

True. Heavy it is🙂. And only used scrap pieces for this.👍

Main color on! Car model builders would use wet sanding to bring more shine to color. I will leave it on semi matt finish. It would like it to be "daily driver" not showpiece.

The most annoying error of this kit is missing hinges on engine hood. Also kits hinges do not work properly. Hood opening function must have been afterthought. I have seen few youtube videos where same complaint emerges.

Nice work! I've been eyeing Italeri's 1/12 kit of this subject.

Cool  iconic, historic, little vehicle.

A bit pricy, the Italeri offering, and I'm not really experienced in gloss auto

finishes, I still would like to give the kit a try. Like what I'm seeing!

Thanks;

Paul

Yes that 1/12 kit is pricy.

This 1/24 kit is quite fast to build. But i have seen some super detailed examples on youtube.

For me the interior was definitely hardest to paint.

Paul thanks for commenting all my builds🙂

Catching up with this beauty. Nice work so far, if I can make a note. The steering wheel arms in neutral position should aim down. Like this

Who knows how the Fiat was parked when they took the photo. Like most, after I park, I almost never straighten out the wheels, just leave it as it is and thusly the photos never show the actual 'showroom' position.

Tried to remove wheel but it was superglued in place.

I will use your advice and rotate wheels to the other side to match the steering wheel. 👍🙂
