Wingco57
Been doing some work on the elevators. They have been broken off three times already so it was time for a permanent solution using steel pins. Drilling holes and insert there, there, etc. Hinges will be made from plasticcard to hide the pins. Cees
DocRob
That should fix it Cees, the backside is starting to look good . cheers Rob
Wingco57
Made progress on the two fins and rudders. Rescribing the panellines and pinning the rudders set at an angle. Very sturdy too. The elevator trimtabs need to be added next. Tailsection is well underway towards completion. Cees
GusMac
Looking good. I suspect the 'wingspan' of that tail isn't dissimilar to that of a few fighters from that era.

GusMac
Bit bigger than an Me-109 and bit smaller than a Spit. Impressive!
Wingco57
Boy Photobucket really have made a mess of fora all over the Internet. Here are some old pics to save some images in this thread. Cheers Cees
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted July 23, 2017 Administrators Share Posted July 23, 2017 Cheers! Tried downloading all my albums from PB but even that is proving to be a pain....
Wingco57
I deleted all my pics from photobucket. No more energy spent on those a-holees. I tried deleting my account but evertime I hit the enterbutton it didn't work. Getting another host makes me wonder if they won't follow the same route at some point. For the time being I stick to posting pics on LSM only.
Wingco57
Gee, almost a month since my last post. Having been Netflixed at the moment keeps me away from the workbench. About time to do some work again.
GusMac
Nice problem Cees. Anytime I try to go on Netflix one of the kids has always got there first! Still, the elder one will be off to Uni soon. Haven't told her but I might turn her bedroom into a modelling space.

Wingco57
The good news I have made some nice progress on the cockpit yesterday during the annual modellers event held at our museum at Fort Veldhuis. Will post pics this evening. Cheers Cees
CyberGolem
This is an amazing build so I await with bated breath....
Wingco57
Thanks, Here are the pics as promised. As the nose section will be quite dark I will only represent the basic shapes such as the automatic pilot " footballs" and the camera. The flight engineers collapsible seat has been made as well and it even works up and down. The seat back still needs to be made. Some of the already made parts such as the navigators table and mounting for the R1155/t1154 set up have been modified to make painting easier and reduce the number of loose parts. Getting there. GusMac
Looking very nice Cees. The fold-up seat looks especially good.
woody37
Hi Cees, Just catching up with your progress, it's looking stunning, will be quite a site to see in person at this scale. Are you going to Telford this year? Hope to see you there if so Cheers Neil

Wingco57
Yes yes I know, it's been a while but work is about to re-commence again during the Christmas period. I'm itching to do more work on it. Detailing the cockpit is a hell of a job (especially if you do not like detailing the really small bits) but will get there in the end. I feel the Lancaster will be sooner out than the Manchester is finished but that is no problem. For 2018 I intend to get it mostly finished (famous last words hehe). Wingco57
Snallish update, looong overdue I know but during the ipms modelling afternoon last saturday I got the itch to get started again and made the throttle box pedestal. This is totally different comoared to the Lanc as it has a bras lampswitch embedded in it I felt really needed to be installed. Took some hours but modelling and talking doesn't speed up things. Also made a start with the instrument panel. This is also completely different so this will be built using pe dials etc. After the instrument panel is finished the painting stage comes closer.
