Martinnfb
I was trying to come up with something witty, but no luck
GazzaS
Last I had heard, many ppl in Christchurch were still living in houses that had been made and declared unlivable since the big quake a few years ago. Supposedly property values in the area have plummeted. I don't know whether they've bounced back since, or not. Before the quake I had this joke about a fictitious quake in NZ... but due to the deaths in the Christchurch quake, I've been remiss to tell it anymore. Martinnfb
Modified Avatar tells me that Ivan landed without any major drama . However, moving in his square-ish furniture can be challenging.

No drama whatsoever. So far, the "Axis 2.0" has been working like a clockwork and we're enjoyably exhausted and happy. We even lost weight over the Xmas holidays - an absolute first! "Eustress" at its best. LOL

GazzaS
Now the question is: Can you find a MiG 23 in NZ under which to sit and sip Vodka?
Ivan Ivanovich
Bugger! Thanks for bringing up such a painful subject! Kiwi birds (11 Taxa) - 50 to 60 thousand (declining) Kakapo - 148 individuals (critically endangered) MiG-23 - 0
GazzaS
Mig-23-fishbed With Xiphactinus And Piplomystus At the Christchurch Art Museum: An etching sold in 1986... Though looks to me someone got confused between Flogger and Fishbed. https://christchurchartgallery.org.nz/collection/86-03 Gaz
DocRob
Hy Iwan, you can't have everything For sentimental reasons I will show you that one, found close to my old hood in Berlin. Having no Mig's at all on my tiny island in fact there are only ATR-72 island hopper and a helicopter for those who don't respect the strength of the ocean. Cheers Rob
Ivan Ivanovich
Interesting paint job on that MF... I really can't complain. Life's been good to us and I think I can get over the sheer lack of MiG-23s in Aotearoa. We've got Weta, lovely neighbours, landscape, gumboots and vodka.
GusMac
Ivan, you need to investigate whether you can make vodka from Vegemite. Might make it palatable if you can drink it!

Wumm
Vegemite... a salty paste made from Yeast, a byproduct of the brewing process... which makes you thirsty, so you drink more beer... A vicious circle.
Ivan Ivanovich
Mmmmmh... Warm, buttered whole wheat toast with Vegemite and a poached egg on top with a splash of MAGGI seasoning sauce. I love it! MAGGI seasoning is extremely popular among (native) Saarlanders, by the way. We put it on almost everything. Be it dead or alive.
HubertB
I had never realised that liking Vegemite was a condition to settle down under Hubert

My mother grew up in Saarbrucken, I was born in Landstuhl, and I have relatives that live in the middle of Spiesen-Elversburg. Family name Schumann.
