There are a few places you can leave stuff out. The engines could probably be reduced to just a block and heads for mounting the exhausts. If the bomb bay and nose gun bay are closed up, that's more you could skip. My next one will be reduced to as simple as possible.

Thank God for that. I've never been one for aircraft all opened up and stuff.   I always thought that if cowls are off, inspection panels are off, and all other doors are open, it really should have all the armament removed and be up on stands. Heck you can swing the gear, pull the spinners to check the prop seals, and finish the rest of it's condition inspection as well.

Progress as of today. I still have to get the gun/bomb bay done. It won't much longer until I can over spray with a primer.

Very nice John, your first post on this was beginning of November, man your fast........

3 months so far. It will probably be at least 4 or more before completion. That's a long time for me to be on one build! LOL :D

Really looks good there John. I keep fighting the urge to start mine every time I see progress on yours.

Carl

Thanks Carl. It's a heck of a nice kit. Outstanding Tamiya detail and fit through out. However, I will be glad to get it finished and go on to something else that won't be quite as involved. ;)

Time to set it aside for a bit. I'm burned out on it for now so I'll go on to something else (Tamiya F4U-1 birdcage to be exact. My old standby for the burn out cure! LOL).

I think I will resume work on this one. I set it aside exactly one year ago.

Nice to see it back. I think I took a year's break on mine too between starting and finishing it.

I'm sure it has been mentioned here, but what bird are you planning to finish this one as, John?

This one Jeff. I've always liked the a/c with the black undersides. :)

LOL Jeff. Have you ever read "Terror in the starboard seat"? Written by a 418 nav and a outstanding read. :)
