Now that I'm taking a little time off from the P-63C I'm thinking this will be just what the doctor ordered. :)

Nice! You don't see too many XVI Spitfires get built.

Carl

Agreed. Something a little different. However, this is my 2nd one. :)

I've built one too and still have 2 in the stash. But I'm waiting on a XIV conversion before I build them.

After toiling along on the P-63 this will be like a walk in the park! Can't beat Tamiya.:)

Very nice John, I was reading that some guys do not like the removable panels etc etc.....is this buttoned up tight ?

Thanks Phil. Yes, buttoned up tight. The removable panels are too gimmicky for my tastes. I either button 'em up or leave 'em off altogether.

Hey John

Check out the Rexx exhausts they are really a great upgrade for this kit. They are abit delicate but perfection comes with a price...lol

Ron G :D:popcorn:

Thanks Ron. I'll take a look. :)

Hi John!

I have wanted to build the Mk XVI for a long time, but I always avoided it!  I will watch with interest!

Lutz

You are missing out Lutz. LOL :)

Do you insist on a conversion for the Tamiya or would a (fantastic) resin conversion for the PCM Mk.IXc fit the bill?

Apologies for highjacking your thread JohnB.

depends on how confident you are with your skills I suppose?!

I have the set mastered by Radu Brinzan and it looks pretty sharp up close, but not sure my skills could mate it with anything and it not be obvious it was a hack job

hence i will be using the cheap as chips Revel IX!

Holy crap! John's building a 1/1 Spitfire.

That's going to take a lot of shelf space.
