Administrators Clunkmeister Posted December 19, 2020 Administrators Share Posted December 19, 2020 This is from Eduard’s own release, folks. Nobody hurt, but they lost their storage warehouse today. It looks like the firefighters have it contained, but it’s a bad fire. Dear friends, Today, unfortunately, there was a fire in the Most building, which we rent for our warehouse. Fortunately, no one was injured. Our production is based in our own building at Obrnice. We immediately started looking for replacement premises so that we could restore the normal operation as soon as possible. We estimate it'll take a number of weeks. Until further notice, we are not able to process orders via the e-shop. It will be great if you will support us via your retailers and distributors. Thanks everyone for your support. Last but not least big thanks to fire fighting teams on site today! PS: we postpone release our Christmas video for few days CZ: Vážení přátelé, dnes bohužel došlo k požáru v mosteckém objektu, který si pronajímáme pro náš sklad. Až do odvolání nejsme schopni vyřizovat objednávky prostřednictvím e-shopu. Budeme moc rádi, když nás budete podporovat nákupy u svých obchodů. Všem děkujeme za podporu. A velké díky patří profesionálním i dobrovolným hasičům, kteří na místě zasahovali! PS: zveřejnění Vánočního videa odkládáme o několik dnů 1
TJTX
Ouch. Looks like it'll be a lot if "Out of Stock" for awhile from Eduard.

Looks like it'll be a lot if "Out of Stock" for awhile from Eduard. Not only for us, but I think an even bigger part of Eduard is R&D and supplier of PE for other Eastern European kitmakers. This will bite deep for a bit, although maybe there’s enough stock around the world to see us through for several months till they’re up and running again. I usually do one big Eduard order once a year from CZ, and anything else I need in the meantime, I get it from Sprue or Victory.
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted December 20, 2020 Author Administrators Share Posted December 20, 2020 I pulled these off of farcebook. It looks like a cold, wet. Miserable December day in the Czech Republic today. I can feel the chill to my bones coming through those pics. 1
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted December 20, 2020 Author Administrators Share Posted December 20, 2020 Some beautiful scenery and architecture, interspersed with a few remaining ubiquitous old Soviet era apartments. I thought most would have collapsed years ago. Those things were such a stain on a beautiful old town.
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted December 20, 2020 Author Administrators Share Posted December 20, 2020 Looks like one firefighter taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Being kept for observation and should be released tomorrow. No other injuries. 3 1

They’re saying it won’t affect production, and they were insured, so it’ll be ok. A minor hiccup I expect. It might affect some down market manufacturers and end users worse, such as kitmakers, etc.
BlrwestSiR
Thankfully there were no significant injuries. They've shut their webstore down so no orders are going thru. Makes sense until they know what they have to sell. Carl

GusMac
Think production is in Obrnice and the warehouse was in Most, so although it's a big blow it should hopefully be recoverable. Boy this Christmas keeps giving......

Boy this Christmas keeps giving...... I kept thinking Texas distance, but Obrnice to Most is less than 6km. Hopefully they find a suitable warehouse close by. It sounds like the fire started on the second floor where the Sprue were stored. Bad electrical wiring. The story that can and does happen everywhere

The distance across Texas west to east is only about 80 km shorter that the distance from where I live in NE Scotland to Most itself!
Bill_S
From Facebook: Dear friends, thank you again for your messages and support! Yesterday we completed the reconnaissance of our premises and prepared for today's evacuation of undamaged goods from the warehouse. It still looks like it will be possible to save more than we hoped. The rest remains in the warehouse and will get new boxes in packaging compartment. The evacuated goods will be moved to a nearby hall, where they will wait until new space is available for the temporary location of the sales department. We have several offers, they will be evaluated on Wednesday. I assume that preparations for the move will begin immediately on December 28, and perhaps the move to selected areas will begin in the last week of the year. My plan is to start selling no later than January 15th. The department providing packaging, including stored components, is intact and ready for action. In this part of building we found also moldings for the Tornado, which I originally mistakenly declared destroyed. So there will be a Tornado with pin up posters. The January INFO will be released on Tuesday, January 5. I have to rework the editorial a bit, but I'll make it. Happy Modelling!
