  2. Yea me too Wayne. They're always fun!!
  3. When I got back into modeling I used my I-Phone to take pictures of my builds on my bench. As my modeling skill levels improved I wanted a more polished professional look to my photographs so I put out the word to friends concerning purchasing a DSLR. Friendship ruled the day and I was given a Minolta Maxxum D5 DSLR with a standard lens plus a telephoto lens. I bought a tripod, modified my homemade light box with additional lighting and a neutral backdrop and so far the results are like night and day!!! I’ve noticed that several members of the FB Group have adopted neutral backdrops in their build photos, lol!! Still leaning the fine art of DSLR photography but looking forward to better and better results! My new Minolta Maxxum D5 DSLR Homemade photo box. Hind using I-Phone and old photo box. Hind using DSLR and neautral back drop I'm sold, lol!!!
  4. Did a little dry fitting today before starting to mask the fuselage and inner wing section to be painted Tamiya zinc chromate. This model has great detail in the wheel wells and weopons bay however the plastic is reallt soft!!
  5. I agree. I'll PM you may contact number!
  6. We should get together for coffee or meet up at HobbyTown on a Saturday. Join my Facebook Group if you're on FB. Great group too. I tetired this year so no more traffice for me, lol!! Ralph.
  7. Nicely done!!! We're both in Woodstock, GA!!! I live in Spicers Grove off of Putman Ford!! Were are you?
  8. No problem! Hopefully something will be fruitful! I went through this same thing trying to find instructions for a vintage Revell 1/40 A-1A Skyraider that I bought on eBay without instructions!! Luckily I finally found a set.
  9. Thanks for this Dave!! Getting ready for a possible WNW build and was wondering about wood graining.
  10. Oh a WNW build could be in my future some day Rick. I've been watching YouTube videos concerning rigging and wood detailing that are way over my head but does look like fun!
  11. That was my first attempt at wood. Been watching a few YouTube videos on the subject and that's a really art form on its own!
  12. Beautifully done Florin!!
  13. Save the tips for me. lol!!
  14. LOL Matt it's there it just dried a bit further up than I had planned!!! I thought about lowering it but the good old "extra thin" has made it part of the rear fuselage!! I'll look into the AirFix kit for sure.
  15. Me too Cees. It's nice to see them out of the boxes and built as they should be :-)
  16. Okay posted this to the Facebook Group: Hi Everyone. There is a member on LSM that recently bought a ESCI 1:9 BMW R75 w/Sidecar #7001 off ebay for a bargain however there's no instructions with it. I suggested to him that we had a few members of our group with older staches that may have instructions that he could get a copy from. He's done on line searches etc with no luck plus he contacted Revell (they bought the rights to the Esci kit) but they haven't manufactured it for years and couldn't help. Having this problem with my recent Revell A-1A build I know how frustrating an instruction hunt can be! Can anyone help?? Ralph. One of our members Harry living in Greece suggested that you might contact Italeri as they bought some of ESCI molds?
  17. Let me post this on my FB Group and see if we can come up with a set. I have several older members with large staches that may have something.
  18. Very nicely done indeed. Love the lights!!
  19. Wow I think that's the first aircraft with a winter scheme I've seem!! I'm a huge nightfighter fan but I could see me enjoying a few winter schemes in the future. Thanks for sharing that. Ralph.
  20. Off the wall Arno!!
  21. My first biplane rigging and all!!!
  22. A long time dear friend from Ft Worth Tx found this sealed vintage Lindberg 1/48 Hawker Fury Mk1 in a second hand store while on vacation and sent to me! It's my first biplane and first rigging kit. It turned out to be a great educational kit for me! See my completed build by following this link. "Fury"
  23. Well of we go to F-106 Delta Dart land, lol!! For an older kit the plastic seems pretty clear of flash and ejector pins marks. The plastic however is a bit thin and soft! For a 1/48 kit the cockpit has some wonderful detail. The ejector seat detailed nicely but will be hard to see in the narrow cockpit! Pretty narrow but at least the chair shows! Fuselage is a good fit but the wings look tricky!!
  24. All done!!! Check out my finished build by clicking here Lysander!
  25. Really enjoyed another vintage Matchbox/Revell build! The 1/32 Lysanders was great fun!
