  1. Hi paul, Sorry to hear that, how is your progress? Any pics to show here? I just finished preparation of the airframe, no filler was used apart from M Surfacer here and there. Next is installing the gunsight and canopy/ windscreen. Then time for paint. Pics to follow after progress is made. Cees
  2. Rog, I already mentioned them in my previous post. About cost, the Beau can be had for a reasonable price at modelshows or ebay, this could give room Financially for aftermarket items. But for instance if 30 pounds were asked for an interior then it should really be of high quality in my view. Cees
  3. Thanks Edgar, Very useful info as ever. Cheers Cees
  4. Hi Rog, Interesting but complicated question. what the Revell Beau really need is everything you can throw at it. The basic airframe is good But a full interior is needed, canopies ( early framed, and later standard version) . The Props could do with replacement, the wheelwells too. The dihedral tailplane. Rocket blast shields. The list is long. About the cost, that depends on who is willing to market these things, but it's a good idea To " feel " if there is demand for it. Cheers Cees
  5. In that case I hope it does LOL. Cees
  6. Tandoori chicken Sirs, or do you prefer the Berlin Flea? Cees
  7. Ahh another episode of "Dutch Chopper" Looking good Jeroen. Cees
  8. I received the Master Models brass cannon barrels for the late griffon spits yesterday. It's a start. Great set by The way. Cees
  9. @Jeroen, Don't know yet, but it ill not have invasion stripes all over, probably only on the fuselage underside. In my humble Opinion the Typhoon looks better with a full set of stripes than the Tempest. I have the MDC Tiffy in the stash for that. @ Happy, Havent looked into that yet but read about it on a forum recently, so should not be difficult to find out I think. Welcome to LSM by the way. Cheers Cees
  10. Nice they included captured markings too. Cees
  11. Mike, I agree about the PCM bulges being very well rendered. I have the Iconicair nose cowl set to replace the Matchbox Misshapen nose, but probably won't need it. if I can get a XIV that is. Doesn't grey matter figures make a conversion set for a Mk XII, a real looker. Then again I like all Giffon Spits. Cees
  12. Yeah, I know, no pics then it didn't happen. Here's proof Cees
  13. Quick update, Cockpit fitted, wings are on and most joins sanded. It all fitted very well (the wings that is, don't mention the cockpit). Pics to follow soon. Cees
  14. Hi Mike, Good to see you here. That's a great buid. How did you tackle the fit between the PXM fuselage and the ancient Matchbox (Revell) wings? You had a more difficult job because the XIV wasn't available. Any in progress pic perhaps you can post? Cheers Cees
  15. Hi Mike, Thanks for the link, had not seen that one, so using the PCM fuselage is possible. Although the one in the Link used the Mk IX, but I am a lazy modeller. Cees
  16. Thanks Edgar, That is exactly what I was after. So you already tried this. Cees
  17. Thanks Erik, That helps, now I wonder if the wings from one kit fits the fuselage of the other. The LHS didn't have neither Of them unfortunately, but planning these projects is always fun ( although there are too many to choose from) Cees
  18. Well, it does suspiciously look like a Starfighter. Like it. Would look great in Dutch colours. Cees
  19. Hi chaps, Been thinking about a future pet project of mine, the powerful Spitfire 21. There are no kits other than the Matchbox/Revell 22/24. As the real Spit used bits and pieces from earlier marks, I plan to do this in our scale too. I hope to combine the PCM Spitfire XIV fuselage with the 22/24 wings. Question is, can the wings Be grafted on the fuselage? Calling Edgar, what tailplane was used? Any info is very much appreciated. Cees
  20. Bevan, Your weathering skills are evident. Did you shorten the legs? Cees
  21. Ecxellent progress Tom, You really make vacform building look simple, which in fact it is. Good to see you Doing good pr for this lesser known ( or tackled) branch of our hobby. Cees
  22. Fair enough, Take two plastic ( short run) fuselage halves, apply glue ( careful and sparingly) and Hey presto. Forgot to insert the cockpit, or did I? Perhap s I should wait for the SH kit too. Must be foolproof. Cees
  23. What makes you think the Special Hobby kit is better, judging by pics? The PCM is a good kit, a short run One, just like SH. Have you ever build one of them? Try the Buffalo and avoid hitting a wall with it. Never judge a kit on what others say. There are modellers and kitstickers. Depends on what You think you are. Then there is always Tamiya. Cees Edited: Totally inappropriate reply from me. I apologize. Cees
  24. Don't know yet. Have sanded the kit wheel halves quite a bit to make them less fat. We"ll see. Cees
  25. Thanks, There is no forward bulkhead but it is not needed. The gap between the instrument panel and The rudderpedals is quite narrow. Have done some work with a silver pencil for some Weathering but doesn't show in the pic. Personally I hate doing cockpits as not much can be Seen and it seems one spends hours to paint it all. Hope to close it soon too so I can Get on with it. The PCM Tempest is a complete kit, enjoying it very much. As can be seen I drilled out the location holes and glued the sideframes to the halves. The bottom piece can slide into them for alignment and fit. Cees
