  1. Indeed, not to mention that the Hercules powered Halifaxes gave the Lancasters a run for their money. But I digress. Tom you are absolutely right about those vacs. I received the Hampden recentely from John. But the moulds have degraded now. John mentioned that he would re-engineer them. I really hope so as the Hampden is also very much a favorite of mine. Cees
  2. Tom, This is some seriously out of this world modelling. It has even turned out better than I expected. This is a prime example how you can use a good basic vacform kit and take it from there to create a truly stunning model. Cheers Cees
  3. Greatresult. This is a great kit. I especially like the used look on the camouflage. Cheers Cees
  4. Yes, you are right. Living less than ten minutes away is sometimes not so good for the wallet. Cees
  5. Wings are on, gaps to fill, but this one is biiiig. Cees
  6. The rigging is great, as is the finish as usual. Well done. Cees
  7. Indeed, what great finish. Cees
  8. Nurse: "Mr Bond, please paint that model at the other end of the room" Bond: " From here....?"
  9. Fuselage is structurally complete. Gap in front of aires cockpit needs filling. Also insert on top of fuselage Needed a bit of help. After cleaning up the wings can be fitted. Cees
  10. Well, it does make working on it much easier. Cees
  11. Well Captain, Why not start your own thread about the masters. That is very interesting. Come on don't be shy. Cees
  12. Exciting times to have two airworthy Mossies, with a third (and possibly a fourth) on the way. I hope that he flies this one more often than his Spitfire XIV, that one has been parked for over a decade. Cees
  13. True Steve, Building it is so much fun. Now the fin is on it gets bigger. The Aires pit is a complete improvement compared to the kit parts. And it fits too, I was really surprised. Cees
  14. Here are some pics. In the meantime the fin is fitted to. Cees
  15. That looks great Petr, Thanks for having the confidence in kitting such a non- mainstream subject. Cheers Cees
  16. Short update, Cockpit has been painted and installed. The Aires detail is great. Fuselagehalves are together now. She's big, pics to follow soon. Cees
  17. Tom, Sounds like a plan. So you are going to convert the two stage Merlin into the single stage version. About those fuel tank vents on the wing uppersurfaces, are you sure they were fitted to the Series Ia? I thought they were deleted after the Mk II. Cees
  18. Every inch a HalibagTom, Where do you source that inner engine from? Cees
  19. Welcome to LSM Captain, Could you introduce yourself? Cheers Cees
  20. Eric, In fact my second after the Meteor. That Phantom we talked about will certainly happen too. I love the Frightning. Cees
  21. HI Andy, I'm aware of the many errors this kit has. But I am not an expert on jets. Like you I have seen built examples at shows and they were impressive. I don't mind if the wing is 5 mm too far forward or the spine doesn't slope, the fueltank is too bulged or the canopy shape isn't exactly right. In the end the difference should be slight. If it looks like a Lifghtning I am pleased. I agree that the price is indeed a bit steep for this kit. But on e-bay they remain hight so ther must be demand. I am just enjoying this build. My second jet after the Meteor so I am really bitten by the blowdryers at the moment. I would say just go for it (quoting the lovely Kim Wilde) Cheers Cees
