  1. Didn't they call so-equipped 109's "Kanonenboote"? Nice set. Cees
  2. 7 days, must be a new record. Cees
  3. The kit spinner seems to be a little too pointed? Would be difficult to fit the Fattorini spinner badge. Bit of sanding needed I think. Cees
  4. That's some very nice modelling. Cheers Cees
  5. Ahh the smell of a first coat of paint. It will even out al the filler etc. You are looking forward to it, you know you do. Cees
  6. That looks seriously impressive. Cheers Cees
  7. Thanks Edgar, I always thought the Mk I used the single storey rudderbar with folded over firehose? Cees
  8. Jeroen, You know I never take the easy way. If my nose itches I use my elbow to scratch. Cees
  9. Tom, Nothing wrong with that turret, it looks great. Cees
  10. Nice photo Rick. It shows exactly the rough nature of the finish ( or lack thereof). Some more progress. I masked off the stripes and gave the black stripes a rough Coat near the edges. The wings look great, the fuselage too, but the tape took some of the White off. No problem, this will be touched up by brush. I think I have succeeded in What I was aiming for. Although by judging the pic Rick posted, perhaps I must use An even bigger brush. Here is also a pic of the aircraft I am modelling. Cheers Cees
  11. Looking forward to. I always wanted to do the East India Spit YT L. Revell has it as one of the two options. Also doing a Mk I with the famously oversized codes DW K. Anyone know if there Is a 1/32 decal set available? Cees
  12. This is the set I will use: http://www.hyperscale.com/2009/reviews/decals/aviaeologybeaureviewmp_1.htm It has everything I like about the tough Beau. Invasion stripes, heavy weatering, big red coded With yellow outline and rockets. I have the MDC rocket set for that. Cees
  13. Forgot to mention, this is a TF X. Will add another coat of white, then difficult masking off on The fuselage with those portly curves. Wings will be much easier. Cees
  14. You move fast. You are correct about the kit's dihedral. The flat wings distract from what A great kit this is. Your solution really transforms it. Cheers Cees
  15. Second thin coat is on, still no good covering, so another coat is needed. But the Streaky look of it is nice. Cees
  16. Erik, I am not a Spitfire expert, but from the top of my head the spinner is too pointed. The oil cooler intake needs to be shallower (semi-circular). The coffman starter is a seperate part so can be deleted. The seat is the "plastic"version, earlier Mk I's had a metal seat. I thought the ailerons are fabric covered? Have to check that. Edgar, anything I have forgotten? Cheers Cees
  17. On the model, as a thin layer. The real stripes were pretty rough so I want to replicate that. On second thought irregular stripes on a model would look a bit too much so have to find a compromise. Not too straight and not too sharp. Hmm Cees
  18. Hi Ralph, It would sure make a great comparison how your skills have improved. Just go for it. In the meantime I have applied a first brush coat of white. As the original aircraft had crudely painted invasion stripes I want to represent this as well. Density will be built Up slowly. These Aircraft weathered heavily. Cheers Cees
  19. Some visible progress. The rocket blast shields are nearly finished. Some scribing to do. At the front A strip of Tamiya tape will represent a doped piece of fabric to seal the edge. Later a flat plate with the rocketlaunchers will be fitted on the shields. I am Happy how this has turned out as he shape is quite complicated. Cheers Cees
  20. It's an expression such as: all is well. The Dutch say: Klaar is Kees. Confused? Don't be. Cees
  21. I use Flory washes. It's clay based and works great. Wiping it off with some kitchen towel and Bob's your uncle, Good to see you continuing this great build. Cheers Cees
  22. Think too, the price is unbeatable. I like the way the wing fits to the fuselage. A firm Joint is the result. Things to note are the missing blunt spinner and the Mk V oilcooler Intake. Wink wink nudge nudge. Cheers Cees
  23. Very clean pe work Jeroen. How do you achieve that without sticking Your fingers together? Cheers Cees
