  1. Don’t forget, Phil, that Canada also developed the Lancastrian conversion as well. Not exactly the York, but it did the job.
  2. Yes, they’re almost common in Canada. One of the world’s two flying examples, plus another that with a bit of work, could fly, and six more static. There were enough still in service in the 50s and enough men who had served on them in the war, that when they were retired, they were preserved. plus, when they were retired, Avro was kind of in the front of everyone’s mi d with the Arrow cancellation and all.
  3. Jeff, I think much of it can be masked, although the Red Ensigns and any Squadron crests will need to be decals. Custom work for sure.
  4. I always like looking at the backgrounds on all these old photos. For example, one of them shows us a couple C-119s and a C-47. Interesting stuff
  5. Yeah, There’s all sorts of interesting variations. Lancastrian
  6. Yes, some minor mods needed, but this is modeling, not box shaking.
  7. This scheme for the HK kit. I’ll go all wartime with the WNW kit. This scheme just cries out to be modeled.
  8. I just love the big Wellington. Amazing job, Jeroen!
  9. One of the few models you can legitimately weather to within an inch of it’s life. They were flown until they literally fell apart.
  10. But the P-51A is so, so SO cool!
  11. Ouch! Too bad about that 190. That actually COULD almost buff out.
  12. Good to see you here, man. It’s decidedly laid back and friendly around here. Nobody, and I mean nobody tries to cause issues, matter of fact, the only issues we had were when an Admin and a Mod from there came here to sling brown poopy stuff around until they were shown the door. I was exactly 6 years too late coming to LSM, man. I plan on building one of these as soon as it’s available. Straight OOB as much as possible too to achieve a white/nmf/red lightning stripe postwar RCAF.
  13. Bump... This thread's still alive and kickin'
  14. "What does this button do?"
  15. This doesn’t look right. There’s no bullet strikes or damage of any kind on the wall.
  16. And that’s a very early short nose version too. Once upon a time, the Clunk was the only all weather interceptor and in service. Everything else was a day fighter like the Sabre. I always wondered why nobody restored one of these to flying condition. Of course the first thing that happened to them was that their Orendas were pulled to be used in the various Sabres still out there. And the Clunk takes two Orendas. Might be tough to find, these days.
  17. Well, I guess that fire extinguisher didn’t help.
  18. You can’t make this stuff up if you tried. A couple of new F-16s on the shopping list, I guess.....
  19. Martin, this is looking good. I just had a crazy thought... Looking at that flat black hood,.... I wonder how a flat black scoop would look... or an area of flat black like some 60s cars did. Mostly Dodge, I think... Well, on second thought, that scoop doesn’t really stand proud enough. I dunno. Just acid flashbacks, I guess....
  20. Yeah I have mine sitting in que with full Lavochkin-Martin fuselage mods already done, and it just cries out for the full Reno treatment. Lavochkin sure knew how to design sexy into a warplane.
  21. Dreaming of Lavochkin in civilian colors....
  22. Crikey, I went and looked.
  23. The Phantom is as ugly as the F8 was beautiful, and you caught every bit of it's trademark ugly. Masterful job in every respect!
  24. Now that's probably my favorite jet of all time. The sexiest jet in the world until the Su-27 and Mig-29 happened along.
  25. Man, I just love the little scooter. One of the nicest builds I've seen of this one. Great job!
