  1. The C-47 project did not rely on commitment from consumers as did the B-36 and the forthcoming 48th B-52. When he finishes that project or sooner he will be looking for a 100 people to buy in. If there is not enough interest he will not do it so it can't tank like the C-47. They will sell more of those with time anyways. You have to realize that for a while now you prop guys have been having your greatest dreams fulfilled as far as heavies go. We jet guys, nothing. Heck if I could pull it off I would donate it to a museum and see if I can write it off, who knows. B-36 is just a hair under five feet so what's another foot, Ernie?
  2. You guys are no fun
  3. Goes from end of September to beginning of October. I know the March AFB thing fell through, but if your going give me a shout!
  4. After seeing some exciting scuttlebutt around the net I decided to do some investigating. The word was that HPH might have been considering a 1/32 B-52 after they complete the 48th project. I can report to you that this is in fact, true. Extreme....expensive, but at the pinnacle of our hobby. Here is what I have.... Sent them an email, the answer: Hi John, now I check the possibility to make the B-52 H in 1/32 scale. After completing the b-52 1/48 project, I can continue. If there is enough interest, we will do it. It is an extreme affair and the price will be aprox. 1250, - Euro. For inspiration, I send photos of 1/48 model details. Best regards Jiří
  5. More please!! Welcome to LSM!!
  6. Wait, you only have 170 kits in your stash!!??
  7. Much like you, Dale, it has a childhood connection for me as well. Once and a while my father would pay me for doing some extra chores with a model. He would take me down to Brookhurst Hobbies, and I would literally stand there for hours trying to decide which kit to buy. Drove him crazy! Now I guess I can do the same at home, although my stash is not too big, maybe 50 or so kits. Also living in California I have this constant fear that everything plastic will be outlawed at some point, and I will need a sizeable stash to keep my until I can model no more. It is fun, planning, etc. It is also capital, much of what I have can be sold for more than what I bought it for if I was ever in a bind. I have actually been pulling out random kits the last few days as my current projects are progressing nicely.
  8. Me thinks WNW made theirs public earlier than they had planned to hopefully get folks to hold off buying one until theirs is released.
  9. How I defeat waning mojo.....build a Hasegawa kit straight out of the box, no extra anything.
  10. C'mon, we know what they're really playing in those Canadian birds.
  11. Ernie is in the press often, but not for modeling.
  12. I would love to see this in WNW plastic!!
  13. My favorite...oh wait...….
  14. Ya, the difference between the Airforce and Navy/Marine Corps seats was just the location of the oxygen bottle.
  15. groovy......
  16. If it were me, I would go with olive drab for headrest and back cushion. Finish the headrest with a glossy, and the cushion flat/matt. The bottom cushion euro 1 maybe. Medium or neutral gray for the covers and belts.
  17. This oughta do it
  18. He is one of my favorite people on the planet, and his enthusiasm for the hobby is second to none!
  19. HPH and Fly are working together to release HPH resin in plastic as of a couple months ago, I do believe.
  20. The money people actually get the final say. KH was going to kit an F-11 Tiger, had it well on the way. The money people said it wouldn't have enough worldwide appeal in our scale, and POOF, gone just like that.
