Look to this Hyperscale thread Gaz... https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/hyperscale/someone-recently-posted-about-p-40-wheel-bay-liner-t190391.html The modern equivalent would be the peel-off blue laminate that's often seen on metal lithograph sheeting used in the printing process. S

It's an interesting and logical idea that I sometimes use sparingly Gaz. Currently subtly varying the O/D colours on the ZM Tony cockpit. The base is Tamiya TS-28 from the spray can, the weathered plate above Tamiya XF-58 Olive Green, giving the lower section a slightly greener tinge. This kind of technique is always a good idea on late-war Luftwaffe cockpits. Instrument panels were often made of wood, and the RLM66 used for them lacked the Zinc Yellow that was added to other paints required for corrosion protection; and stayed Grey whereas the other areas turned to a greenish tinge over time. Perception Bias. It fits Tim's narrative. The actual difference between the Forums is in the substance of the actions of those running them. Last month, a dual Member criticised LSP on their site for the way it was run. One of the Staff there called it "one of the most disappointing posts I've read in the past 13 years" Conversely, here on this Site we have a dual Member criticising this Forum and attributing sentiments falsely that were never expressed; and the only intervention by a Staff Member is a short humourous and self-depricating post. Just something to thing about. S

Subtle animosity? I must remember to try harder next time. S

Freightliner have a solution for that now, at least on the Argosy Cabover... When you open the door, steps pivot out sideways from behind the lights for easy access! S -
Well, There's not much ambiguity or need to rely on memory, when you have posts deleted and receive a warning in writing from one of the Staff.

*Post edited... After I remembered that we're apparently forbidden to comment on the status and behaviour of other Modelling Websites. Actually, under those rules should this thread even be here? Those who want information can go to their Facebook page S.

Martin, apparently you can use the AMT or Revell Peterbilt 359 kit with this needle-nose conversion to get to a 351. https://aitruckmodels.com/product/peterbilt-351280-hood-conversion/ S -

In all seriousness though Danny, It appears that there were a variety of Factory schemes available on the White/Freightliner COE of the timeframe, all named after US Cities. These were Freightliner suggested schemes, but of course you could choose your own colours or schemes to suit your tastes and match the Business the Truck was hauling for... This also applied to chassis colours as well. This still applies today. Here is a bright pink Conventional Cab they prepared for a Client, who specialise in Female Drivers. When you're buying such an investment, money is no object. So it seems you are free to paint your DD any way you please. S -
There were no gatherings allowed here for ANZAC day, our equivalent commemoration on April 25th. So the two of us went out to the end of the driveway with a lit candle at dawn, as was the suggestion. Hopefully US Veterans can have a better opportunity this weekend to meet with others with whom they have shared their Service, now that some relaxation of Quarantine is happening. Enjoy a little tipple Harv, and clip some sprues! S

Don'tcha know Jeff was the inspiration for that show? "By day, he's a good-natured Trucker... At weekends, a Hot-shot on the local Auto Racing circuit.. At night, solving crimes in his spare time. When does he sleep? Who knows? Only the Woman who tamed his wild Heart. And she ain't sayin' " It's all business up front, and a party out the back... Starring Jeff in "The Sleeper" Eat your heart out, Greg Evigan. -

We were booked again to visit Heron Island in the Capricorn Group this September, but we are unsure whether we can still go this year. Nearby Great Keppel Island has perhaps my favourite place in all the world; the Back Beach, where if you look Eastwards and imagine there is nothing between you and the Chilean coast. Like Heron, there is no surf due to the surrounding Coral shelf, but this is more than made up by the Ocean wildlife and the brilliance of the night skies with no artificial light to spoil the Stargazing. Magnificent isolation -

This is great for your well-being Rob... It's good to get back to as close to "normal", whatever form that takes now. Being at one with the Ocean is a special feeling. Keep enjoying the Island Life! Steve -
Quite possibly... One free in the back of a C-17, with every Legacy Hornet purchase!

Pickles Auctions Gazza... You see them come up from time to time. A few ending tomorrow even, they're a bit long in the tooth but some have less than 20K's on the clock. https://www.pickles.com.au/optimisedsearch/-/optimisedsearch/afm#!/result?q=All.keyword(Landrover). S

Looks a nice area Rog, Close to beach, Freeway, School and shops. If it's a choice of 32/33/34, I would take 32, be as far away from those tiny Townhouses on Owlpen Lane. 180 squares means only one car space, guarantee that you will have Bogans parking on No.34's side lawn, which will be a much smaller block anyways because it includes all that side street frontage in the 369. It's a great time to be buying property if you have the income and a good deposit. Good luck Mate!

Existence leads to Suffering... The journey through Suffering is the path to Enlightenment. It is a cycle as old as time itself. Whenever you feel this way, go and do something truly mundane until the Joy for Modelling calls to you again. OM MANI PADME HUM S

Careful Martin, or you'll have someone's eye with that! Now, this sounds like a plan. -

It is a slow burn... I don't have much spare time for the Hobby at the moment, and it's a kit that demands respect; both due to it's complexity and monetary value. I see a few WIP's around on the 'web, and most builds have the cockpit area as a bland coverage of a sandy RLM79-type colour, devoid of any shade or highlights. My research points towards more of a Green O/D colour for the middle production machines, in a cockpit that has only a partially sealed bulkhead between it and the nose guns up front. The Yahu instrument panel looks very nice for this kit; but with an abundance of I/P options provided by Z/M I'm seeing if I can do something a little creative before I splash another $20 on what is already a $250 kit in this neck of the Woods. Drilling out the instrument cavities on the Ki-45 main panel. Zoukei Mura provide three of these for both variants in the box, so should I stuff it up no harm done. I have a cunning plan... S
