  1. Thanks for your feedback Hubert! It‘s one of the senses of such a forum to exchange as much information as possible and learn about new modeling-techniques from the other members. And this is what I like most in this forum. I learned so many things since I joined.
  2. That looks really pretty good! I‘m also from the old days, since test-fitting is something I can’t resist. So necessary when you are building Italeri and even ZM when I remember how the engine to fuselage installation on the Ta-152 worked... I‘m curious how your build will go on! Really awesome so far!
  3. Awesome Rob! Well described technique which is easy to use. Thanks for sharing it here!
  4. Thanks for your feedback Rob! I only know this because I worked on real aircraft long time ago when I was in the German Air Force.
  5. Thanks Gaz. It‘s time consuming but pays off in the end!
  6. Funny ideas Rob how to pose it and really an awesome build! Maybe you can put it in a flying-pose? Do you have some pictures of the welding lady too?
  7. Beautiful, amazing and stunning! I‘m not a truck-fan normally but yours is absolutely a masterpiece! Can‘t wait to see the progress!
  8. Thank you for your feedback Peter! You are right: the decals were the only option. But they look nice and we know how to test them.
  9. This looks really awesome and thanks for the description of your technique! Will for sure give it a try!
  10. Finished detail-painting of the wheel wells yesterday. The blue/yellow markings on the pipes indicate hydraulic-pipes. And the sequence of the color describes the direction of flow of the hydraulic fluid (which is poisonous and runs through the pipes with a pressure of more than 200 bar (2900 lbs/ sq in) !) Next step to follow will be the weathering of the parts shown.
  11. These fiber erasers are really nice but have to be used very carefully. But the effects you can create are really nice. I also used them for my Corsair.
  12. Wow Rob! This really looks stunning! Beautiful detail painting and weathering. The seat looks as if really covered with leather and used. May I take a seat? Looks quite comfortable!
  13. That is awesome stuff and not only the seat! Also the nice additions are really stunning. I had to enhance them with Eduard and Scratchbulding.
  14. Thank you Peter! You‘re right: The foto references in the book are really good. E.g. that the III C the Israelis used had no landing lights attached to the front wheel, the color of the wheel wells (white not silver) and the color of the LG (silver)... I also bought a set of IsraDecals for my kit and I am curious how they will work.
  15. That’s nice Frank! So we have the same requirements. Since I didn’t use any Isracast-parts in the past I will share my experiences with you here.
  16. You will laugh Peter. I bought mine some years ago when Revell did exactly what you describe. Was really at a low reasonable price they sold it. Nostalgic but very nice...
  17. I even have one reboxing in my stash with the old livery (but new decals). Couldn‘t buy it with my pocket money either when I was young. Only possible for events like birthday or Christmas... Regarding surface-detail even this old kit is really good regarding its age...
  18. This really seems to be a very old kit, when there is no firewall included for installation in the fuselage. But you did it quite well. The alignment looks convincing to me.
  19. Interesting topic you mention. I add these scuffs at the very end of the build using different colors of the Tamiya Weatherine Sets applied with a shortened brush carefully on the matte surface. Works quite well and there is no risk of removing them. I also use these sets to apply oil stains and all sorts of stains (except exhaust) on the model. If you applied too much it can be removed with water or even be carefully removed with a soft eraser.
  20. Thanks for your feedback Frank! You already are very far with your build! And you also choose the Atar 9C option! Where are the extra parts from? Mine are from Isracast. I‘m also looking forward to the paintjob because I personally love the Israeli Camouflage Scheme. I‘m really curious how yours will turn out! This is my bible for the build which is a really nice small book with lots of pics and informations.
  21. Started painting of the wheel wells. Gunze flat white with a coat of Future as preparation for the oilcolor weathering at the end. Detail painting started. Still some work to do...
  22. Great job you did on the harness, Carl! Fiddly job and awesome results!
  23. Nice Harv, will be much to see from the engine in the end!
  24. Great looking Copter! Hope that mine will turn out that nice too.
  25. That cabeling is awesome!
