Jeff replied to GazzaS's topic in General Discussion

I actually meant if you wanted items from him, they are good, I'm afraid I need my wheel for my Lanc, sorry for any confusion... I just placed an order from Mike yesterday as a matter of fact... he is prompt and good, and above all honest...

1/24 Airfix Scale Mosquito build
Jeff replied to PeteF's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Wow..... and they wonder why guys don't participate... that kind of stuff, although isn't the end of the world, it is a little bit disheartening, and are they like that with the junior entrants? I have never judged and can't walk in their shoes with any authority, and I understand that if one is judging many entrants, it can get a bit overwhelming, BUT with that said, it is your pride and a lot of work went into it and maybe they needed a break, and come back a few minutes later??? but I also understand time is precious... still though .....and I also get ,and understand they can't please everyone................................. I have seen some judging at a show or two, and holy, they get right into the finest of details, which in some cases I'm not sure about..... but if there are two that are tied, then absolutely as its all in the details..... even though, I'm sorry you build got the brush off so to speak..... Glad you had the starch to enter your build, you should be proud of your great accomplishment. -
IF any one is going could you do me a small favor , IF you think of it, ?? If by chance you go past the Whirlybird table http://www.whirlybirdmodels.com Could stop by and say hi to Roger, from Jeff in Canada...... I have been corresponding with him of late and he seems like a real nice guy, I'm also sending him an order, but he is up to his nose in trying to get ready for Telford, I would LOVE to be there, and do it myself, but I can't so if some generous soul can find it in their heart to say hi for me, I bet he will go...... .." who?? I don't know any Jeff from Canada"............. oh but he does... I'm sending him details on Canadian Bear Paws...... I bet he would be chuffed...LOL!!!

Precisely why I don't do contests....... I'm very sorry to hear that Pete, it is a truly stupendous build, had I been a judge it WOULD have been placed for sure... as far as I'm concerned it is a show stopper..... and by the way are these judges Mosquito 'experts'? and know the fine details of a Mossie? Just curious, not trying to stir anything up.... but really, judges, this is an excellent build...... also I put a 'like' on your post, but in reality I don't 'like' it at all.... kid of a pile of bovine excrement I'd say ( not the post but the judges decision)..... -
I can't wait to see this one done, the weathering would be a huge challenge for me..................... who does this belong to?

Jeff replied to GazzaS's topic in General Discussion
My wife won't buy me any kits for Christmas, she says I have too many as it is and not a lot coming out of the model room, apparently there are loads of boxes going IN but nothing coming OUT............................................................... HUH................................................... -
I have a set of his wheels for my Lancaster, and they are really good, IMHO and his decals, IF you need or want them are really good as well..... you're welcome I hope that is of some use to you....
