  1. GREAT news Gazz...... and Phil, I'm sorry to hear of what's going on with you, a real kick in the ' nads '..... I'm lucky and am retired, but our illustrious PM has given so much money away, over this virus thing, he now says our Canada Pension Plan that we all PAID into for our life time at work is now in jeopardy of being broke... HUH....
  2. Aaaaaaannnnnnnddddd we're............... oooofffff !!!! AWESOME !!! This is going to be GREAT !!
  3. just a little tid bit of useless information, 1842 sqdn maintenance crews painted the new Pacific Markings on their Corsairs March 20 / 21 1945 when in port in Sydney Australia..... and was checked and inspected by Admiral Sir Bruce Fraser CiC British Pacific Fleet................
  4. is there any detailed info on the decal sheet about the date and or pilot of the 1842 sqdn bird you are interested in?
  5. I'm assuming with the style of the 'roundel' you are doing a late scheme when she ( HMS Formidable ) was in the far east, rather than when 1842 sqdn was chasing the Tripitz or when she was in Gibralter
  6. Not sure the mk IV is as cut and dried as what some of us may seem to think, and I am very happy to be proven wrong, but some of the designations 'may' have something to do with who built the aircraft..... Vought, GoodYear, Brewster etc... I am reading the War Diary of 1841 Sqdn FAA and this has been mentioned.... I need to, and am doing more reading and research here... this makes for interesting investigating.......
  7. Which bird from the Formidable, John? A local fellow from my home town flew off the Formidable....
  8. Mike, you are THE MASTER............ what an awesome dio and attention to detail.... this is top drawer !
  9. Your efforts definitely paid dividends, John, fabulous final result and nice to see different markings....... I like it very much....
  10. I don't know about any 'inability' to paint a face, they look really good to me , and if I could do that well, I would be thrilled..... still though, I think they look really good... and then again, maybe simpler is the way to go sometimes?? I really like them...
  11. 3rd pic down, the guy standing on the left side looks absolutely real, he has expression on his face and your painting of him is exquisite !!!!! Awesome job on the model, all crew figures are great , but that guy stands out..... love what you did ! Take a bow !!
  12. Probably should spell it Beaveroo.............. ??
  13. They will probably take the guns out of them if they are....... we have gun laws here ...............
  14. Just an observation from a guy a long way away......... I don't think you should sell yourself short, Rob...... those crew figures look REALLY good, especially the guy with the brown leather jacket............... I absolutely LOVE the high lights on the jacket are excellently done, you managed to show a real authentic image of wear, and not in anyway over done, and his gauntlets have the same subtle wear, from here, I would say you absolutely nailed the weathered leather look. , you have skills light years ahead of me for sure................. I'm totally impressed
  15. I will sit in on this one Harv, if it's ok.....
  16. John, you are showing skills of a real deal model maker, taking a kit that has been a huge challenge, and making it into a master piece, your end results are excellent, and you should be very proud of your efforts, it will be a beautiful model when done.
  17. Those new peepers are working really well, Harv, the build is looking really GOOD ! I love what you are doing here....
  18. What do I think??...................... I think your choice of subject matter is VERY interesting and unique, and your skill set to produce a spectacular representation is incredibly impressive............... that's pretty much what I think......................
  19. I sure wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of those ! Where did you manage to find those? It is going to be an awesome display....
