  1. Well, I'm convinced ... that looks really nice Pomi, very nice indeed! (I do like the lines of the 410, I must admit).
  2. Aye, aye .... Where'd this come from??? Kept this one quiet Jamme! Personally, I like jets (in fact, anything that flies) as well just because they go very, very fast but some of the colour schemes out of necessity are fairly bland. I tend to like the more outrageous colour schemes such as "aggressor" squadrons. (I would sacrifice certain vital body parts to take a ride in a fast jet - the closest I got was sitting in a Hawk - courtesy of a friend who flew Tornado for a living - and even then they had to pry me out because I didn't want to leave it. ) Looking forward to watching progress Jamme.
  3. Sounds like an awful amount of vetting to achieve an acceptable finish only to have to accept a compromise Cees. I'm sure it'll turn out to be a fine model once you've finished. I know what you mean about invasion stripes, I suppose they're inevitable if your modelling something that was around or introduced in and around those times.
  4. Looks wonderful James and a great review too. Meng are certainly a brand that I need to take a closer look at now, they certainly have a very eclectic choice of subjects - which is not a bad thing!
  5. Wow, Ralph, this is looking superb! Great choice of colour scheme by the way and wonderful painting skills too. 35c and humid .... Hmm, must be sitting just south of London then :)
  6. Paul, In terms of glues, our mutual friend Mark Adams, has experimented with a number of brands of glues on the big brother of this kit - the 1:16th Zero - and swears by using Loctite medium (for the white metal) and thin for the PE etc. He spend a lot of time over this as he found other glues were, for some reason, ineffectual and too "brittle". If you were to consider soldering, he also strongly recommends using Carrs solder (Red) for the photo etch. I'm so looking forward to this. PS: Still haven't progressed much with my 1:16th Zero but, once the 1/8th Aston is out of the way (just waiting for some tiny screws that I've run out of) I will get cracking on it.
  7. That's a super looking set - as one would expect from Kajero, nice an colourful. I enjoyed the review Mike (Oh, and an He111-P is winging its way oop nort' to James Aloyicious Gaylord Lancelot Hatch tomorrow)
  8. It's certainly a big bird judging by your Tempest sitting on an A3 mat Cees, looking really good too.
  9. I haven't mentioned much on your stupendous build but I have enjoyed everything you've done and I've learned so much it's frightening. Please don't take this the wrong way but I actually have very little regard for the Airacobra (I just can't get excited about it) so it says a lot about your phenomenal skills that has kept me watching throughout. Some are great scratch builders and others are great painters but you, Sir, are both at the same time. Thank you for sharing this at LSM - I think we're very lucky to have you here.
  10. Uh, oh! Guess I'm going to have to mug you for that, you do realise that of course? Keep looking over you shoulder
  11. Gorgeous FW190! Love it , congratulations - you must be very proud of it, deservedly so.
  12. Ok, this might not be a full tutorial by a very preci'd version ... Have a read of this, it might help: http://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/1119-help-with-uploading-photos-please/
  13. Hi, somewhere we have a full tutorial on posting picture from either Photobucket or Flickr - give me minute or so and I'll track it down, cheers.
  14. It might be a small'sh kit but it's pretty entertaining. I like the way you achieved the dish effect in the PE spokes, very clever - this is going to turn out brilliantly.
  15. Blimey Rog, I want your kind of birthday !!
  16. Thanks Dave & Jeroen, indeed - I'm very lucky in both senses. A friend who thought of me when the opportunity arose and the book itself. I reckon Bud Anderson's Mustang nose art must be the most famous, or close to it, of all 'Stangs. His later career in the USAAF was equally impressive.
  17. This Arrived today - a gift from a good friend, Mark Adams, who went to Reno and met with Bud Anderson of "Old Crow" P-51D fame, this kind, elderly gentleman graciously signed a copy of his Memoirs personalised to me (the spelling was a bit hit and miss but with my surname, I'm used to that!). It's a super book and complements my copy of Janes' P-51D illustrated guide which features Buds "Old Crow" Nose Art on the front cover - it will sit nicely on my bookshelf in pride of place. I'm extremely happy to have this generous present to read and absorb!
  18. Hells teeth Bevan, that's lovely work. I'm looking forward to watching this come together
  19. Man, I admire anyone that's willing to tackle any vac-form model let alone a 1:32nd scale bomber!!! Oh I'm definite watching you do this sir. Wow.
  20. God grief !! Talk about an engineering project! It looks sensational and a definite buck list item for me. Gorgeous.
  21. This is no idle flattery of Takom's superb looking model, but I don't think I've ever seen "cast" lettering or plaques as sharp as these; the "Louis RENAULT Constructeur" plate is absolutely pin sharp. Superb moulding throughout as well but, if I have to be honest, I'm a little unsettled about the red colouring. Anyway, for a kit this impressive that's a small consideration. A very enjoyable read Jim, nicely done. Note to self: must find out who are the UK distributors for Takom.
  22. How's this for a tight squeeze: This might help too?:
