Good grief! How are you going to get it out of the room?? Great update. -
1/32 Rocket Science: Me 163 (Meng)
Grant replied to JeroenPeters's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
I just LOVE what you're doing in this Jeroen... Great looking pit and the replacement bits and pieces are just right... It does make you wonder whether Meng actually DID have this PE set in mind when they produced their Komet. Get cracking then, James' build is only a fraction ahead now. -

First WOW! Secondly welcome aboard The S.S. LSM! I love what you've done with this Buffalo - the interior is extraordinary. Fantastic attention to detail. -
Naked Build Me 163 Komet (Meng)
Grant replied to James H's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Nicely done Jim .. it's definitely worth it as, from what I can see, the rest of the kit is actually quite sweet. -

Nice choice .. I think swirls would spoil it anyway -
Great job Francisco. Are the prizes (i.e. the Arrow Wolf Sponsors Prize) being offered for this GB or another you're thinking of? Cheers Grant

Great review Oh great God of Reviewers !! Seriously though, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and also enjoyed seeing the component parts laid bare for a change so that comparisons to ZM's P-51D or other scale and brands can be made. I know this is expensive but it's one of those once or twice in a lifetime acquisitions that you know you are going to have to make. I was really looking forward to this having known about them for some time now so, thank you for your hard work getting IMCTH to work with us. I can't wait to see one in built form (by you or our very own LSM Member Paul Anderson who, I happen to know, has this in his stash). I'm absolutely beside myself in anticipation of a Bf109F which I believe is in the works too !!

Where do you guys buy "large scale" armor kits?
Grant replied to olfogey's topic in Modelling Discussion
I've bought from Hobby Link Japan and would have no problem buying from them again. The items arrived in double quick time and very well packaged as well. The company is very efficient, very honourable and extremely well respected globally and I'd recommend them without hesitation. -
What do you have planned? Your projects for 2014
Grant replied to James H's topic in Modelling Discussion
Well, with the best intentions I really want to Start and/or Finish the two 1:16th kits I have in the pile: i.e. 1) The "Partwork" 1:16th Mitsubishi A6M Zero 2) The 1:16th Hasegawa Sopwith Camel Like I said, this is with the best of intentions! -

Hi Jim, I'm not based in the USA but I believe a lot of guys use Squadron, here's a link to their 1:16th filter search - http://www.squadron.com/military-model-kits-s/1834.htm?searching=Y&sort=3&cat=1834&show=18&page=1&f-1:16=2828 You might even find it cheaper to look on some of the Japanese sites and also for other brands than just Trumpeter - I don't know for sure but I've read of the guys from our Ex-Colony ( ) buying from there; Hobby Link Japan springs to mind. The words "secretive" and "swine" keep running through my mind (kidding) Man you know how to a kit together! I have no idea where you find the time what with all the other projects you have on hand at the moment - I mean, you must be very busy putting together / painting a two engined WW1 bomber at the moment too (lmao!). Fantastic work Dave, as I said - you really know how to build a model - utterly amazing. -
Errr, WOW! I think you should invest in a band saw !! It seems no plastic is safe when your around

Nice start on the 'pit Jeroen, considering that PE set is for the Hasegawa Komet it shouldn't be too long before they release a version for the Meng kit. I like the blackened look to the metal (or did you pre-paint it??). -

Windows update 8.1 copy paste error
Grant replied to pfuf's topic in Problems? Suggestions? Tell us!
Me too! I could kick myself for not doing it the last time around. I will definitely go the Mac route as soon as I can, after all I have an iPhone and an iPad which talk to each other (and include my Windows laptop begrudgingly !!) so I ought to complete the circle. -

I hate Window 8 anyway .. it's designed for touch screens and adapted for PC's and laptops ... hopeless in my opinion. -

Well, I'm convinced ... that looks really nice Pomi, very nice indeed! (I do like the lines of the 410, I must admit).
